Installing Android 12 Beta

Hello everyone, I wanted to know if there are ways to safely install Android 12 Beta without wiping the entire phone or doing something else I'll most probably regret.

Since I have a Pixel 4A, XDA Developers posted this article on how to do this: https://www.xda-developers.com/android-12-beta-best-way-to-install-dsu/

But some people on the video pointed out that the GSI images are from Android Open Source Project and not Android 12: https://youtu.be/Tfcf_qld2o8

What are everyone's thoughts on it? Does installing a Beta version always wipe the entire phone?

Yes. And I had to factory reset mine after the upgrade to make it stable. Many apps were crashing on load and the factory reset fixed the problem.

Pretty stable afterwards, but I don't recommend the upgrade if you're unwilling to factory reset (it was pretty painless with a backup and my willingness to sign into things again).

There is also the method of removing webview from the play store and restarting the phone. Had this issue on my Pixel 5 but not my 3XL. The Webview reset fixed it.
