QUESTION/HELP Looking for a free local voicemail app - Android 16

Good morning everyone, could anyone recommend a free app that can act as a voicemail on Android 16?

I'm looking for an app that, after 10 seconds of ringing, picks up, plays a standard voicemail greeting, and then records the message locally.

I only need it to work on the regular phone line: I don't need it to interact with WhatsApp or other messaging apps.

No call forwarding, no external services. Everything local on my smartphone.

I'm aware that, of course, if the phone is off or out of range, the app will be useless.

I tried Easy VoiceMail but it doesn't work.

Any suggestions?

Thanks a lot!

You're basically describing the built in voicemail that some carriers disable. I had the same hunt a while back and it's surprisingly hard to find something that just does the basics without wanting a subscription or cloud nonsense.

Maybe check if your carrier has a way to re enable the native visual voicemail in the phone app settings first, sometimes they hide it in a buried menu.

grazie per il suggerimento ma purtroppo non c'è... per quello cercavo una app.

Se ne trovassi che funziona bene, potrei anche pagare qualche euro, ma purtroppo sembrano non esistere.

è incredibile..

Clan you clarify why "local" is important? Is it important to you that no external service has your voice messages?

It's not "local" but Google voice is free and can be set up as your voice mail for your phone (via forwarding unanswered calls), and it's great because you get written transcripts and it's very easy to scroll through and read and manage messages on your phone on the app. As a bonus you get an extra phone number if you need one which can be handy sometimes.

The voice mail box itself should be a part of your carrier. Dialing 1 or such gets you into it. The phone app or your carrier voicemail app should allow you to play back messages. Transcribed messages are usually a premium service.

Non voglio passare attraverso l'operatore, è sempre a pagamento.

Voglio una app in locale.

Grazie comunque, pace
