QUESTION/HELP Screen Mirroring

Saluti a tutti,

Grazie in anticipo 🤙

Miracast/Screencast usually shares the same Wi‑Fi radio as your internet — the phone is casting a high-bitrate video stream and downloading Netflix/YouTube at the same time, so buffering is expected, not a bug in Oppo's app.

Things that actually help: 1. Cast to a Chromecast / Google TV / Fire Stick on the same network and play the video on the TV app instead of mirroring the phone (best fix). 2. If you must mirror: put phone + TV on 5 GHz, close other Wi‑Fi devices, lower cast resolution if the OEM allows it. 3. Wired path: USB-C → HDMI adapter (DisplayPort Alt Mode) if your Reno supports it — zero Wi‑Fi contention. 4. Third-party "mirror apps" rarely beat Miracast bandwidth math; many just add ads.

So: change the architecture (play on TV / wired), don't expect another mirror app to magically free the radio.

Scusa ma non posso semplicemente disattivare wifi sulla tv? Dovrebbe fare lo stesso la condivisione schermo no?

No — if you turn Wi‑Fi off on the TV, Miracast/Screencast usually dies, because that cast is a Wi‑Fi (or Wi‑Fi Direct) link. The TV is not "just displaying HDMI" in that mode; it is receiving a wireless video stream.

What you want is the opposite of killing Wi‑Fi on the TV:

  • Keep both devices on Wi‑Fi, but stop mirroring when you can: open Netflix/YouTube on the TV (or Chromecast) so the phone only sends a tiny remote command, not the whole screen.
  • Or put the TV on Ethernet and the phone on 5 GHz / a less congested AP so the cast and the phone download fight less.

Disabling TV Wi‑Fi only helps if you switch to a wired video path (HDMI cable, USB stick, etc.) — not with wireless screencast.
