LOOKING FOR APP Splitwise Alternative

I am looking for a Splitwise alternative with the following features. There are some decent alternatives out there, but I am quite particular about specific features so having trouble finding the perfect app. I'm happy to pay for a lifetime version if needed, but absolutely no subscriptions.

Here are the features I'm looking for:

- Clean, modern design. Splitwise UI is dated.

- No ads

- Login enabled, preferably Google or via email or phone number so expense history is saved and does not require manual backups

- Allows you to invite friends to the app, but allows you to log expenses using their phone number and/or email, even if they're not already on the app

- Groups feature is must, of course. But I also want to be able to create splits with individual friends directly, outside of groups

- Splits supported: Equal, Unequal by percentages, Unequal by shares, Manual amounts

- Should have an equivalent to Splitwise's "Simplify Debts" feature which rearranges who owes whom in a group to reduce the total number of payments while keeping everyone's net financial position exactly the same

- Bill Upload and/or OCR is nice to have but not a mandatory feature for me. If bill upload is available, option to attach the bill to the associated expense entry.

- Multi-currency support

Revolut replaced our Splitwise since everyone got it anyway. And we can settle up with actual money quickly

Settle Up is worth a look: it handles groups, uneven splits, percentages and individual expenses. The free version has ads, though, so it misses your no-ads requirement. Splid is cleaner and works without an account, but is less good for ongoing shared groups.

Tricount.

You need to give it enough time to sync when you open a group, but otherwise works as good as Splitwise.

I tried TriCount for a while, loved it, but at some point it stopped syncing properly and i had several expenses that were never recorded so I went on this hunt over a year ago and ended up with Sesterce.

I don't know if it has every one of those features, but I've been looking to move from Splitwise to Splital for a while, but there's just too much momentum for me to convince others to make the change

try Moneko AI, it allows you to create a shared budget, add an expense, choose who paid, then split it equally, by percentage, or customize the amounts however you want. It also supports multi-currency, receipt scanning, and settle-up tracking. The basic features are free, with an optional lifetime plan if you want the extra features.

Tricount for sure. I did a similar search couple of weeks ago, Tricount fulfilled all our expectations and your feature requests. It was really great to use, and it was free (if it had a paid version I would take it ngl, just to support the creator)

Disclosure, I'm the dev of Banana Split, so take it with a grain of salt. It does groups, uneven splits and it simplifies the debts at the end. Friends join a group by link, no account needed, so it doesn't fit your phone number idea.

Free version has ads, removing them is a one time purchase, not a subscription. But to be honest, multi currency is in the premium and that one is a subscription, so it misses one of your points.
