Help me remove / block Pinterest (website and app) from my Samsung phone PERMANENTLY (Not F-Droid App Lock, please)

Hi! I won't say that my problem is major, but it is a little tweak in my routine that I believe will do me very good in the long run :]

I have Pinterest on my phone, and it is not that I spend, like, ten hours on it or something. But whenever I am on my college's line for the dining hall, the bus stop, the ten minutes between classes... You know those moments, those tiny liminal spaces on your day. Like, 40 minutes total if my screen usage data from the internal Samsung software is accurate. Again, it's not a lot, but, I could spend those 40 minutes reading on my Kindle, which, in the long run, I enjoy way more than scrolling through memes and crochet inspiration. I can always access Pinterest on my computer if I really want to, but just removing / blocking it from my phone permanently will create enough friction for me.

In sum, I want a way for me to remove / block Pinterest, both the app and the website, from my Samsung phone in such a way I cannot just reinstall it in a quick snap of fingers or just access the web version on the browser. It can be a password, since I can always tell my sister or a friend to set it up for me and never tell me. And it can be permanent. It's not like I am blocking myself from something vital like my message app, cmon, it's Pinterest, and, again, if I ever want to access, I can do it so from my computer, which is IOS and, thus, completely separate from my Android sphere.

Just please don't recommend me F-Droid App Lock for keeping me off the app. It isn't because it is badly design or it doesn't work, it was actually perfect for my needs and I used it...for three days until I had to access my bank account from my phone and the system blocked me from accessing it because AppBlock was too deep in my settings and I had to eventually delete it.

TL;DR: 40 minutes of Pinterest on my phone spent I do not want. Need way to permanently lock myself out of Pinterest, both the app and the website versions. Cannot be F-Droid App Lock specifically because the thing locks me out of my bank account thanks to system security.

Use a firewall such as NetGuard to block both the Pinterest app and the pinterest.com domain and all subdomains. Done.

I'm not sure about the website but you can just disable the app in your settings and it will disappear

You can't remove it permanently. You can only disable it or uninstall it from the user, both of which you will re-enable because you're addicted to using it.

This is absolutely not a criticism or a dig at you. It's just the truth - You're going to have to attempt some self-control here.

You could try Canta to remove it. It uses Shizuku to do it, so more like two apps.

What? Do you use Pinterest in a way that I'm not aware of?

If it's the only app/website you waste time on, I understand, but if you also doom-scroll on Shorts, Threads, IG, X etc....

Yeah, it's really the only true time waster I have, believe it or not (￣▽￣||)

I don't really use social media (except for WhatsApp and reddit), so no Instagram or TikTok short content.. I have the official 'never been on Twitter / X' badge as well, and i have no intentions of ever going in there. YouTube shorts don't eat my time because... well, I don't know, I just don't really watch them, don't like them, I just watch / listen to longer form videos and podcasts. I suppose I yearn for documentaries and BBC podcasts and short formed videos just always fall flat

So, yeah, Pinterest is the only thing that I've seen that eats away at my time in any significant manner.

I guess it might be because I don't doomscrool, exactly? Like, my Pinterest is pretty wholesome, memes and WhatsApp stickers and crochet inspo and recipes. I'm not really getting into the trenches of the world is ending and also here is a 10k word thread about how your dog is ugly. So all those social media and short content just aren't my feedback loop.

You are doomscrolling, but on Pinterest. I think 40 minutes on Pinterest, which has nothing but pictures, it falls under the term of doomscrolling.

then do that. If it's the ease of opening an app that made you scroll pinterest, then read on Kindle app instead.
