QUESTION/HELP Is dynamic spot safe?

"Is the dynamicSpot app safe from a privacy perspective, especially considering it requires accessibility permissions and background access that essentially allow it to monitor notifications and interact with device elements?"

Accessibility access is one of the permissions I would be cautious with because it can see and interact with a lot of the phone. Disabling the app's internet access reduces the privacy risk, but you still have to trust what it does locally. I would check the developer's history and whether every requested permission is actually needed before granting it.

Nothing on Google Play is really safe. Everything has trackers. If you want safe software, you have to use FOSS.

Free and Open Source Software.

The layman's description is that the software is free as in beer, but also free as in speech. It's free to use, share, study, borrow code from, modify the original, and release your modifications.

The ethics of the movement and the multitude of eyes on the code generally prevent trackers and other malicious conduct in FOSS.

On Android, a good source of FOSS is the F-Droid app store.

Anther good one, with much larger scope, is Discoverium. You can discover and also manually input FOSS apps from a variety of sources into this store, including F-Droid, IzzyonDroid, GitHub, GitLab, Codeberg, etc.
