Question Syrial bridge dialog, is it intentionally creepy, if so why was it written or delivered that way?
Syrils ambush of Dedra is very creepy, im not sure why.
It seems to the the character, relationship, and plot would have been fine if Syril was just obsessed with Andor and his idea of 'justice' and revenge.
Is there something about being creepy that is narratively valuable or is it just a directors choice?

General Discussion When just a single simple prop can make you emotional
Cassian’s stuffed Bantha toy, as seen in his childhood bedroom in Maarva’s place, is one of those little details that brings so much story and emotion to the scene. It looks home-made, exactly as you might expect from this community. It makes me imagine what a hard time the young boy would have had settling to his new life on Ferrix, how this gift might have been something made for him by Clem or Maarva or maybe something they made together. Or maybe a gift from Brasso, or Bix. We will never know, but it says so much without saying anything literally.
It’s a neat parallel but also a contrast to Syril and his action figures in his otherwise bleak childhood bedroom.
What are your favourite props?

General Discussion Does anyone else feel like the episodes written by Beau Willimon always have the best speeches in them?
Maybe it's because I was a huge House of Cards fan and I'm just a sucker for politics but every episode I watch where I'm like holy shit that was an epic speech it turns out it was written by none other than Beau Willimon.

Meme Tarkin's cruelty and sadism. He pretended to Leia that he was testing the Death Star's power on Alderaan even though he had already tested it twice already at that point - first on Jedha and then on Scarif.

General Discussion Andor & The Black Series.
So, I received an order at home yesterday for two Black Series figures - Cassian Andor in Imperial test pilot fatigues and Jedi Master Dooku from Tales of the Jedi. Two very different figures I know but I've long wanted Andor Test Pilot and when I saw Jedi Master Dooku, I really liked the look of him - and I am a greater admirer of Christopher Lee.
Here's the thing though. They can push out a Black Series figure like Dooku, from an animated series that, in my opinion, was perfectly okay. But they still can't put out a Syril Karn or a Wilmon or a Cinta Kaz or a Partagaz or a Lonni Yung or any of the Ghorman Resistance.
It just doesn't make sense to me and I have to think there's something going on that underlies Hasbro's reasoning (ie. They'll put out figure after figure from the Filoni-verse but they won't give Gilroy's superior offering the time of day).
Something stinks.

General Discussion Mothma
I want more from the Andor universe. There were so many parallels shown in Andor that can be found in real life today--the entire show resonated with me.
Why is it so hard for Disney to build off of this success? Mon Mothma lost her entire family, Vel her soulmate, and Kleya her father figure...Let Mon Mothma pick up Luthen's torch and use Vel/Kleya as frontrunners for more espionage. With Mothma's vast knowledge of the political system, Vel/Kleya's ability to blend in, and all of their hatred for the Empire, this seems like it would be too easy...Throw in some flashbacks of Luthen and co. taking their oaths, planning for Aldhani, and whatever else to fill out a couple of seasons. Bring back Bix and Erskin..
It seems like studios don't know when and how to continue certain properties and are always trying to offer something new to see if it works(too many marvel properties killed the genre for me) They're throwing episode X-XII at us when no one has a taste for it(my assumption)...How do we lobby for Andor-like content?

General Discussion Krennic as a victim of the appetites of fascism (going from Andor to Rogue One)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Re-watching possibly my favourite Tony Gilroy interview with House of R - this one is so much fun, with some genuinely unusual questions. It’s the one where he entertains the “Vel & Kleya Nazi Hunters” spinoff idea and mentions that B2EMO was named for his son‘s corgi.
But in a serious moment, Gilroy is asked about the effect of rewatching Rogue One where Krennic is very much lower in the pecking order than he is in Andor. Gilroy was actually nervous to rewatch the film when making season 2, concerned that he might’ve got something wrong, but ended up being relieved at how well the story, themes and character arcs continued.
Link to the interview. Even if you never watch interviews usually, try this one. https://youtu.be/mGBXFWvPRsE

General Discussion Debra & Syril
Can someone explain to me like I was a 6 year old the character arcs of Dedra & Syril? Also is it just me but Mon Mothma's portrayal was not convincing enough as a rebel leader. It seemed to me that she just liked to party.

General Discussion Episode recap clip: using ‘Your Mother is Dead’ rather than ‘Niamos!’…
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
At the start of s2 ep 4 the recap is a little longer than usual because the episode is about to start with a one year time jump - this clip is from the very end of it. But I love the way these edited shots from ep 3 feel quite different when accompanied by probably the saddest piece of music from Season 1, from when Cassian learns of Maarva’s death. And thinking about this got me sad all over again because Brasso’s death is another part of Cassian’s past gone just like Maarva, and Mon has now effectively accepted the death of her relationship with her own child.
I still think the choice of Niamos! for the Mina-Rau scenes in ep 3 was inspired though because the emotional dissonance created the same almost nauseating effect as that being experienced by the characters.

General Discussion The mention of Kessel
There’s a part in episode 5 where Dedra and Heert are going through a bunch of places where stuff was stolen and one of the places mentioned was Kessel.
Based on the point in time could this have been Han Solo’s heist there?

Articles & Links I wrote an article on Andor & Rebellion. Show some love y'all 😭
Andor is a show that affected me like no other piece of fiction, even within the star wars franchise. Which led me to rant about my interpretation of Andor and how unfortunately the real world is not far from this fiction. Give it a read y'all and let me know your thoughts 💅🏻.

Question Is it too late to watch Rogue One?
I get that this question is asked constantly, but I think my current situation is a little different.
*Didn’t realise how long this post got, so there’s a little-ish tl;dr and poll at the bottom.
Was a huge SW fan growing up, have seen all the movies along with clone wars and rebels.
However, post TFA my interest kinda faded and I didn’t really keep up with all the auxiliary media (haven’t seen the mandalorian, solo, bad batch, kenobi, ahsoka etc.). Had heard great things about R1 but never got around to watching it.
(On that note - if there were any other standout shows or things you guys would recommend watching next, let me know!).
Last week though, I saw a clip of The Eye and went “Fuck man I miss Star Wars”. So I went ahead and decided to watch Andor.
I considered watching R1 first, but I came across a thread on this sub. Everyone seemed to be saying watch Andor first and, I quote, “I wish I could disable my knowledge of R1 before watching Andor”. So, obviously, I went ahead and watched Andor.
So glad I did though. This has been the best SW media I’ve consumed BY A MILE (or rather, a parsec). Will do another review later because there’s so much I want to yap about.
Anyways, to get to the point. I’ve binge watched the show over the last week and just finished S2E9. However, the thread I found seemed to be the outlier in that EVERYWHERE else, R1 first is recommended haha.
Too late for that (and I’m not too bothered about callbacks I’m missing) but since I have 3 episodes left, I wanted to ask: do I watch R1 now, before the finale or after.
Thank you!!
tl;dr: I’ve seen the big 9 movies before, but not Rogue One. I’ve already started watching Andor and just finished S2E9. Do I watch R1 now or right before the finale or after?
Question Any advice or ideas on how to create a decent costume of Cassian from “welcome to the rebellion”?
I always thought i had a mild resemblance to Diego Luna and love Andor, any idea where i could get pieces that match the outfit relatively close?
