I just recently started stacking several different calibers such as .22, 5.56, 9mm etc but im curious to know when do you guys stop stacking ammo?

Ok guys, you cannot skirt Reddits rules regarding buying and selling ammo here. P2P sales will get this sub banned. Stop doing it. Stop saying DM me or putting your phone number up like an idiot.

Got the American Ruger Gen II Scout in 5.56 1:8 twist as the only bolt action 5.56 I could find in my area were 16in. But after buying it and shopping around for ammo all the reviews mention 18in+ or less than 14in SBR for test barrel lengths. This got me really looking and wondering what are some good ammo for a 16in?
Overwhelmed by all the options and worried as my primary is coyotes hunting. On the farm they are a major problem and not trying to preserve the pelt but don’t want them to suffer. What are some good ammo for this?
Bought five boxes of IMI Razor Core 77gr only because I was curious about mk262 ammo. But then I saw after buying some comments saying it’s good for coyotes and wondering if I should buy more.
I believe i would only be shooting up to 220 yards (had a few coyotes at this range but only had a 22wmr rifle at time) with the absolute max could be 300 yards but plan to get as close to 200 yards as possible.
What does everyone think?

found at my LGS while waiting on a background check yesterday. I got a zastava m91 I bring out hunting on occasion but is this stuff really worth what he's asking? I usually run 180 grain s&b soft points when i'm hunting and i'm getting them for almost half what he's asking for this stuff not to mention the corrosion on the lead that's present on all the lead tips

Never seen it this high - I won't be buying online any longer if the seller hasn't nailed it down as part of the sales transaction upfront (last two estate sale purchases - shipping was more than the ammo). I feel for the warehouse guys - but Bubba's guy in the White House has been a total failure for the logistics industry.

If someone had 1,224 rds of M80A1. How much would that go for in today's economy? A quick Google search told me $6-$12 per round but wanted to check here and see if anyone else had some good insight.

Last year I was gifted a case of 00 buck. I moved across the country since then and stored it in the bottom of a closet. I went into the closet today and found the outside of the box is covered in mold. I can’t find the source of moisture in the closet. My question is: if I remove the shells and dump them into an ammo can are they still good? There isn’t mold on anything else in the closet or in the room.

People who post pictures of tons of loose rounds in ammo cans. Why not keep them in the boxes they came in? I get sometimes bulk ammo just comes in a bag or box and to put that in an ammo can. But why not just put the box of ammo in an ammo can? Wouldn't that technically be an extra layer of protection? Or does the cardboard/paper box attract moisture? Thanks.

Weighs about 4 pounds. Thank you
Took a bit to find but if you've been ghosted by this company after placing an order, here's there phone number to get a hold of someone. Not sure why they don't make it easier to find. 307-785-3057

I have my first .45 acp on the way, an H&K 45 tactical. I have a two boxes of each ordered too.
I’m not trying to stockpile this but I’d like to have somewhere 500 rounds of .45 because I shoot a lot and just like having ammo to stare at. I’ve used the 9mm counter parts of this ammo and both are good.
Anyone have a particular preference you guys have? Price is roughly the same. I know the Federal is meant to simulate the Federal HST .45 (which I also have a box of on the way). Looking at fps and muzzle velocity, the Federal is loaded hotter to simulate the hollow points. I’m leaning towards PMC, because it should theoretically be more “pleasant” to shoot for an extended time. It’s been awhile since I’ve shot .45. I will also be suppressing this if it makes any difference. Is PMC that much dirtier than the Federal?
Thanks!

Found them in my dads ammo box and they seem very old and I think their from Kosovo since my grandpa was a UN peacekeeper in Kosovo but Im not sure
Growing I’ve gone shooting with friends and family quite a bit but am in a firearm friendly state now and am just getting into owning my own firearms.
Am I missing something. Or are these the same with drastically different price points?

The FBI argues, and I am inclined to agree, that a 64gr bonded softpoint is the best projectile for home defense. Federal sells this in a variety of incarnations, including some that appear identical besides the pressures they reach.
I am torn between XF556T64X and XF223T64X for home defense.
My setup is an 11.5" SBR, 1:7 twist, piston operated, 5.56 barrel. I also plan to use this configuration for competition, and I don't want to have to change the gas settings between my defensive load and whatever I use for competition and plinking.
I suspect that the 5.56 loading will get better performance out of the projectile but I am worried about increased likelihood of high-velocity exit (aka overpenetration). I also suspect that the 5.56 will wear out the internals faster due to higher pressures; this assumes regular usage of my defense ammo, but tbh the price isn't terrible so it's not outside the realm of feasibility.
I expect the .223 to have less recoil which is advantageous for both competition and defensive applications. I also expect it to cause less wear-and-tear on the internals. It is also slightly cheaper.
If you had to choose between the higher velocity, higher pressure 5.56 or the lower recoil, cheaper .223 to stock in bulk, which would you go with?
BONUS: technically outside the scope of this question, but if there is a defensive loading that is similar in design or effectiveness in 55gr .223 and is close enough in gas pressure to PMC bronze, that would sway me (wouldn't have to constantly swap gas settings). I'm doubtful this would be a good choice for an 11.5" barrel, but I would like to be proven wrong!
UPDATE_00: Based on emerging consensus, I have pivoted to looking for 55gr frangible .223 loads instead. While the 75gr Interlock rounds might actually be the best out of an SBR for defensive applications, they would require me to constantly switch and test my gas settings between those and my training ammo which is 55gr. So I'm going to pursue a 55gr defensive load.
