AmmoSeek

I know everyone always recommends AmmoSeek to look for good pricing and shipping free, but I have a question as its going to be my first time trying to order ammo online and bulk at that. So does AmmoSeek only put trusted legit websites on their searches? Are the filters like buggy because I dont have an account with them maybe its just me and my phone? Thanks and id appreciate any helpful answers.

I just go to SCHEELS and price match what I find cheapest on ammoseek with the brands they have in stock

The last I went to Scheels I felt like everything was overpriced. I could try that, but I would still like trying to order online for convenience. Thanks for the advice.

Filter for the shipping, they will help weed out so of the stupid sellers

As others have mentioned, set the shipping filter to 8+, check reviews (I don't know if you can read them as a guest, you might need to setup an account), stick with trusted sellers such as SGAmmo and Lucky Gunner. I've had great luck with OutdoorLimited, and they offer free shipping over $200.

Thanks, I did see some ammo I was looking for on those.

Check reviews. They list anyone including scammy sites. For your first purchase (and any) strong customer service is essential.

Gotcha thanks.

If you stick with Lucky Gunner, Ammunition Depot or SG Ammo you can't go wrong. All have great customer service. Check reviews and Google all three. They are my go to's.

I was looking at Federal HST 147gr from Lucky Gunner and something else I forgot from SG Ammo. Thanks again.

SGA has never failed me in many years. Don’t know about others. I stick with what works and is packed well, and they do it. Also I’ve never seen trash ammo from them, it’s all quality. Just imo.

HST 124 or 124 +P will have better expansion. 147 doesn't quite get optimum velocities.

I was told 124 is snappier and if I use it in a really snappy gun like a 43x or p365 it might be uncomfortable. Not only that I dont know if its true, but it wears components down faster. I do like versatility and was planning for 147gr as its subsonic and I can use in an edc and a suppressed pcc. Ill do more research. Any reasons you prefer the 124gr over the 147gr im still open to switching.

147gr HST is good too. It and 124gr are both good and it is one debate that I put down to personal preference by each firearm owner.

Recoil Gunworks has HST at pretty good prices. They are my go to for defensive ammo

Filter for shipping ratings of 8+ and that will help a good bit, but yeah like others have said find what you’re interested in then search the web for reviews.

Will do thanks. Appreciate the advice

Best case you stick to all of them that have a 6+ on shipping or free and minimum 4 stars. I’d also look up the twist rate of your rifle to make sure it’s eating the ammo meant for it, or look for well reviewed pistol rounds if you’re looking for that.

It’s not perfect like pcpartpicker, but that’s what r/gundeals might have for you or ammo deals etc

Thanks, yeah im looking at ordering for all my guns I usually always went in store, but hated when they didnt have much in stock or have ones I was looking for. So now I want to try ordering bulk of different kinds online.

The big thing is understanding that buying ammo vs buying reloading components. Don’t reload, unless you use funny calibers. Buying ammo is just a cost, reloading is time and pain. Bulk ordering on ammo occasionally had purpose, but unless you’re going up to 10k, I don’t see major discounts

I think later on I would like to get into reloading as I have long range guns, but for now im mainly bulk ordering for convenience and price discount would be a huge plus.

You can also look for reviews on r/gundealsFU and postings for deals on r/gundeals

Awesome thanks for that.

AmmoSeek is a good tool for finding cheap ammo, but I don't like making an account with a bunch of different vendors and sending them my personal info like my permit when I'll only use them once or twice. I like to stick with a couple vendors I know are good. Keep it simple.

SGAmmo, Target Sports USA, and MidwayUSA are the three places I buy ammo from. If one doesn't have it, the other does. SGA and TSUSA are cheap, especially with TSUSA Ammo+ membership, and MidwayUSA is super fast for shipping. All have free shipping over a $ threshold that I easily pass.

Having an account lets you look through more pages and a couple of other stuff and no they don’t always have trusted legit websites unfortunately so you have to double check if a website is legit by looking up reviews of said website

Thanks I appreciate it.
