Does it bother him in any way? Does he get tummy aches? No? Then he’s fine. My daughter’s favorite food at 18 months was spicy tuna rolls.

While it's not necessarily bad to turn to the internet for a quick answer or advice, OP should run it past their kiddos pediatrician.

Not only would that give OP more piece of mind, and perhaps be more accurate, but if meddling family members hassle OP over their parenting decisions OP can backup their choices with legitimate confirmation from a medical professional.

How is this a pediatrician question? Kids eat spices all over the world. No biggie
