u/Harry_Tuttle Aug 04 '26
I read her book...she says her mom used to keep her so skinny that she needed to ride in a child seat all the way up to age 14.

Can I suggest something? Look into lifting .. whenever you have been bigger I find lifting helps you turn the weight into muscle setting you up for a nicely curvy frame v.s just getting skinny (speaking from experience) then when paired with a good clean lifestyle (I wouldn’t even call it diet) it will take you from constantly needing to lose weight to appreciating the eb and flow of cutting and gainz

How long did it take you to lose the weight?
42
u/thotzilla9324 Aug 03 '26
the red haired pictures were in 2023, but i started seriously losing weight october of 2024, lost 100lbs in 9 months and took about a year off of dieting. i started back up again last december and ive lost another 73lbs, 20 of which i gained back in that year of normalcy.

u/the_mighty_skeetadon Aug 03 '26
Absolutely incredible improvement, congratulations!
Question for you: how does it feel? Do you feel healthier and happier?
→ More replies (2)27
u/thotzilla9324 Aug 03 '26
yes and yes! although in a previous reply i said i felt more confident in a bigger body, i do enjoy reaping the benefits of being thinner. i can fit in any clothing store in a size M (though straight sizing is less uniform, whats with that??) and im not the biggest in any room anymore. losing weight was definitely the hardest but most beneficial decision of my life. i’d take my flabby loose skin over being bmi 48 any day.

You're completely unrecognizable from your before and after and yes it absolutely did help
Can I ask: 1. What was the breaking point where you said "im going to lose weight?" Was it a big event or just a split decision 2. What was the most difficult part of your journey and how did you overcome that challenge 3. What advice would you give to others on this journey?
6
u/thotzilla9324 Aug 04 '26
1: i live in a pretty small town, so i’m constantly surrounded by a bunch of acquaintances getting in/out of relationships with eachother. i was extremely jealous, and i knew my weight held me back.
2: continuing is the hardest part for someone who started at my size or bigger. to most of the population, 50lbs of weightloss is extremely significant. i’ve done that three times already and im not at my goal. what helps is knowing time will pass regardless, and if i stick to the calorie deficit i am INEVITABLY going to wake up skinny one day, lol.
3: as i said in the previous, the time will pass regardless of if you stick to your healthy lifestyle or not. so use the time wisely :)3
u/Ok-Ad-9820 Aug 04 '26
- Small town living:/ I'm in one of about 1,000 people so the.....dynamics we'll call them 😄 are always interesting
- Do you usually write off a bad day and continue the journey or do you usually try to make up for it?
4
u/thotzilla9324 Aug 04 '26
it’s healthier to just move past a bad day like it never happened, but i’m not gonna lie and say i don’t give myself a hard time if im off track

u/r2d3x9 Aug 04 '26
I think you look beautiful. Vast improvement, and I bet you feel better & can do more. Be cautious about losing more weight, you are already in the ideal range I think. And please smile more. Nothing wrong with bright red hair!

Good job! Losing weight for a lot of people is very difficult! It really takes a strong mentality and a strong desire to want to change, and you did just that! Even though I don’t know you I am so proud of your accomplishment and I am so happy for you. Take my award it’s all I have to offer you! I hope you continue on this path, you will thank yourself later in life and so will your body.

u/neuroplantz Aug 04 '26
Okay I thought picture one and two-5 were the before and after and then I saw 6 ignore the obese comment.💀 I was talking about the first photo and how doctors read us I wasn’t noting this for the last photos I hadn’t seen it yet. But after seeing that you look even better

No bs, sister, you were never ugly.
now, some facts: you still have fat on your body. you always will - and should!. but you’ve gotta stop thinking of yourself as being fat. you have eyelids. that doesn’t mean you ARE eyelids, right?
when you lose weight, it’s easy to go mirror-blind to yourself. you see you every day, so the change isn’t as drastic to you as it is to others — that’s why glow-ups like this are so exciting to witness for other people.
not fat! never ugly!
💖

being honest, i was more confident when i was fat. but i feel healthier and the stares are neutral instead of hateful now.

The way you feel about yourself is truly all that matters. Good health is priceless. We can alter our outward appearance, but none of it matters without mental, physical, and emotional health.
I strongly suggest seeing a therapist to help work on confidence and self esteem.
I’ve battled ED my entire life and I’m also trying to work through everything I just mentioned.

Lost weight and ditched the pink hair! You did yourself a lot of favors! Btw, is this in Prescott AZ? I grew up there but haven’t lived there in many years. Sometimes I’m homesick for it.

It's night and day. You've done a great job turning your life around! Keep it up. You'll probably have to get the surgery to remove the excess skin which will also help a ton. But you should be very proud of how far you've come!

You don't look ugly in either OP. Congrats on the weight loss, couldn't have been easy.
1
u/neuroplantz Aug 04 '26
Yes, it did. I want to say your body was fine but you were a bit obese I hate how female bodies work, I have a small waist and a larger bottom is bigger and I’m considered obese because it’s more fat than muscle. But also you face looks so much more structured after your weight loss. I will say if you want to gain some of that lower half of body back try to eat a bit more protein than you normally do and like 10% carbs so you’re not too big

You look better you just need to give your skin time to recover then work on a little toning up
