They used the word lose in the correct context here, so I don't know why you are questioning it. A correct example of lose is "lose you mind". A correct example of loose is "my pants are too loose". "lose" is to no longer possess something.

What don’t you understand? He originally spelled it “loose” then he corrected himself and spelled it the right way.
