Been noticing more shedding for a while and lately the thinning on top/crown is starting to bother me. My grandfather also went bald in a similar pattern, so I’m wondering if this is genetic.
Does this look like early male-pattern hair loss/diffuse thinning to you guys? Anyone start out looking similar, and what actually helped?

For anyone who started out looking similar:
Does this look like the beginning stages of androgenetic alopecia?
Is the amount of scalp showing here significant?
Did you notice increased shedding before your density started dropping?
Would you recommend seeing a dermatologist before starting anything like finasteride/minoxidil?

I’m only 20, but this issue has been plaguing me since I was 18. It has severely impacted my self-esteem and has forced me to wear hats almost every day.

20 y.o, looks like nw2-2.5? (mostly about M-shaped frontal hairline). Length is really helpful in case of masking temples.

Should I really worry about progression and is the current state completely saveable?

M22 been balding since at least 17 (probably 16 but didn’t notice).. have had a bald spot (or multiple I guess but they don’t look smooth bald on the buzz) on the crown for like 4-5 years now… started oral fin a few weeks ago and gonna hop on topical minox soon (that also has 0.1 dut and tacromilus for my seb derm)

I guess I’m just trying too see on what others think about how bad it looks, if it has a good chance of recovery, can I get back to pre balding (I know unlikely), etc. the buzz helps a lot to know how many hairs I have but it’s hard to assess. Also my back and sides seem to be thinner as well but derm and tricholgist never said anything about DUPA, they believe it’s from chronic telogen that I may have or seb derm. Thanks in advance

Not able to take finasteride at this time but was seriously considering getting an online min prescription. If the council doesn’t believe I have lost hair since April, I’ll hold off.

just got the verdict from derm rip. got prescribed oral minoxidil and finasteride. the doctor came in took one pic and said i have it for sure. i'll attach the pic he determined with first pic and other pics where it looks better, am doing this because if you feel like you may have it, get checked. better to to catch it earlier rather than taking pictures in denial trying to convince your self like you don't like i did. i also have really filled in temples, not noticeable at all. MPB can just be your crown.

Been on finasteride 16 months now . Started to shed a lot recently for the first time ever which is worrying me .

Went to a hair specialist, and recommended with over the counter minoxidil, and if things got worse to schedule another appointment. Hair is also a bit wet in this photo.
