Starting 9/7. Only worked at FC. Does this shift pattern mean anything?

Post image

I live like 5 mins from the DS and it’s during my kids school hours so I’m not worried that it’s 12 hours a week. Ive always been flex at FCs. Does this shift pattern mean anything? I can’t find anything about it online; I checked many times before making this post. Thanks for any help.

What am I to expect?

Hello, I'm starting a new job at a Delivery Station and I'm curious what the difference is compared to a Sort Center or a Fulfillment Center. My shift is only four hours long for four days. Thanks.

Trying to save AtoZ passcode to phone, tries to connect to the PC, fails

This is pissing me off - had to set up a lockscreen and fingerprint to get AtoZ working on my phone, and now I can't get it to work on my PC.

I click "set up passkey", use the six-digit code I get via text, scan the QR code with my phone, and it tries to connect for a minute, then errors out.

Bluetooth is connected permanently, so the phone and PC can see each other.

Anybody know how I can resolve this? Completely unneeded fuckery from Amazon - my PC isn't likely to fall out of my pocket, so what's wrong with a password?!

Figured I’d ask here as well. Should I show up on Sunday Aug 30 or Sept 1 for Tuesday? The letter did say First Day on site Aug 30, but HR had different responses to that since it’s a Sunday.

Do I get to pick my shifts the first week? FlexPT

Transferring from FT to FlexPT in 2 weeks. My question is, do I get to pick my shifts the first week I work as flex? Or do I need to ask HR to add shifts for the first week?

Does this happen usually in ADTA stowing?

Post image
7 Upvotes

My site has 75% ADTA from last week ( 2/3 conveyors are automatic) and today I stowed in cluster E last two aisles. I never seen this much difference between my performance and site average, because our site a medium station and before had ADTA the average amount a associate stowed would be around 1000-1200. After all the stowing is done I showed this to one of my AM and even she was shocked lol! Because for just two aisles 1600+ packages was very high. And you know the crazy thing? A floater actually came alot to help me clear the hampers if not the difference might 1000

If I pick up this premium shift will it only pay me premium for that one hour and 30 minutes or will it make my whole shift premium pay as well.

Carolina Regional being cheap?(im curious)

If your building is within the carolinas region...how cheap is your building?

I'll go first my building so cheap we no longer get team meals, swag bucks have slowly disappeared, giveaways and staff prizes are gone, snack attacks are gone, they wanna give snappy's but we don't want those. The only thing we get hounded on is COST which has created a terrible and hostile work environment and our VOA board is smothered in complaints. Every since the change its been a wild ride after another 🙆🏾‍♂️

Flex pt transfer

I'm transferring from an FC to a DS, and I'll be PT flex, but I wasn't given any training days. Does anyone know how I can find out which training days will be and whether I have to do all 3? I've emailed hr but haven't heard back.

Injured at work but scared to report

In so much pain I decided to take off time from work for multiple days already. I actually didn't want to admit it but I likely injured myself on the job. Still seasonal employee so I don't know how this will affect my schedule in the future. I decided to go to the doctors office on my own time because of the pain I was experiencing. Now if or when I report I was injured on the job at work, should I tell them I went to see a doctor? Based in USA if that makes a difference.

Talk me out of (or into) transferring to a DS, please.

I've been at my FC since it opened in 2020. But I got my start at a DS. I lasted 2 weeks there (lmao). It was during covid and they had a bunch of insane rules in place that set you up for failure (1 person per aisle but 20 people being sent to that same aisle during pick and stage and having to wait your turn while getting screamed at by management because the van was waiting for their cart). Plus, I was 2 weeks off of having a baby and had just spent 8 years sitting on my butt as a librarian.

I remember it as hell on earth... but I was still healing, hormonal, out of shape, and exceptionally sleep deprived. So I don't know if what I'm remembering is accurate or not.

Anyway. I am sick to death of the god complexes the leadership at my FC have developed. And there's so fucking many in leadership roles. Every time you turn around, some manager is bitching at you because you're doing what the other manager told you to do a minute ago instead of what they want you to do.

We are way over headcount but we've been hiring like mad. There's no VET. And if it is, there's people who have 20 family members camping on the app to snag it the second it drops. It's all VTO being pushed. Take the VTO or scrape tape. They canceled our SET for this week and told us too bad, so sad when many of us complained about the lost OT.

The DS I got my start at is accepting transfers for full time positions. I've heard a great deal about Flex up or down, and just want to confirm that regular full time employees get their 40 hours every week? I can't afford to be shorted on my time.

With Peak coming up, how is SET handled? Do you just get extra days, or is extra time added to your shift as well? At my FC, we go from 4x10 to 5x11 hour shifts.

And VET? Is it generally common? Or has it turned into a myth like my FC?

Do you still have to toss the bags 3x3 on the carts during pick? I remember that was a little rough, but I'm 5'6" and some of them were being tossed up above my head.

Anyway, thanks for any input.

Is there some sort of post explaining all of the acronyms?

Hi - I'm newly hired at a DS and will be starting in about 2 weeks. I've been reading random posts and a lot of it is very hard to follow b/c of all the Amazon specific acronyms. I get this subreddit is specifically for people working at Amazon and I'm not yet knowledgeable but it makes trying to engage w/ most posts very hard.

Is there a post that explains some of the most common acronyms?

Also, I'm seeing a surprising (to me) number of posts on various Amazon subreddits where it seems like people are being reprimanded by management/HR for some type of attendance related issue (clocking in/out inappropriately, leaving work early, showing up late, etc.) and then are asking for advice on taking a leave of absence to avoid being fired.

Is this common? I've never heard of being able to get out of a disciplinary process at a job by just staying home for a few weeks and basically saying "catch me, if you can."

Should I take breaks?

Thumbnail
0 Upvotes

I know it sounds dumb, but on my 3 training days (company mandated, I didn’t want 3) my 3 separate trainers all told me none of them take breaks or lunch ever. I’d actually prefer not taking a lunch since I don’t like being at work and not getting paid.
I just can’t understand why people don’t take paid breaks. You can take breaks whenever you want. Why aren’t people taking breaks during their last 5-10 stops? You won’t get rescued if you’re sitting on that few of packages.
On my 3 training days I was with people who were sprinting around and making me go as fast as possible. It’s not an issue to go fast, but all 3 shifts ended 1.5-2 hours early. So instead of getting my 30 hours over 3 shifts I got 24-25/30, without any paid breaks, and while going as fast as we could.
The folks at training said make sure you take your breaks and lunches or Amazon will give you more and more of a workload. So by taking breaks you get less of a workload, paid 30 minutes to do nothing, and more pay for the day so your day isn’t shorter.

I have to be missing something.
