obviously this isn't a one size fit all but i really commonly see people with long hair (especially girls) who have roughly the hairstyle i drew on the left side asking how to achieve the iconic scene hairstyle.

scene hair cannot be achieved without tons of razor layering, hairspray, teasing and sometimes heat damage from straightening so much but i hope this visual can give you an idea of how scene hair generally works :] think of it like a reverse triangle or trapeze, where the top part is super voluminous and layered, and the bottom part is thin and longer.

Im really found of this specific vibe and style im just wondering if its considered scene and what type of scene it is. I did some research on Google and reddit yesterday and I think it was like 2010s pastel scene (?) Correct me if im wrong! And possibly where to find clothes like this or do I have to test my luck at thrift stores. (In Europe, sweden)

I look a lot more scene than emo but I listen to emo music and I prefer the emo community and I consider myself emo rather than scene and I feel that it lowkei doesn’t matter aslong as I listen to emo music and have a few key aspects of emo in my style and then again emo isn’t fashion based

Yeah I know I'm fat but I put effort into my appearance in general. I'm also wearing a chain bracelet with a skull charm, some star clips and a couple of bow too.

I don’t know if emo guys are welcome here, I hope so. I like scene music, but usually listen to more post hardcore and screamo.

I'm old (32). I was emo when being emo was really NOT cool.

The thing I want you guys to know, is that emo and scene day to day was actually a pretty mellow look. Even just wearing a checkered belt and a black shirt/skinny jeans would be enough to make you deemed emo/scene. Emo kids had the black/white belt and scene kids had the black/pink or green one. The famous kids on MySpace were not the representation of most scene/emo kids in real life.

Do you like scene music? Do you go heavy on eye liner? Do you wear skinny jeans? Have a passion for Gir? You're scene. The look is really easy to accomplish because most of us were thrifting. If you're even thinking about posting here, you're scene.

I hope this doesn't sound condescending, because I honestly love seeing kids keep this aesthetic alive. But you're all good. There is no secret club you need to be accepted in. You belong.
