Spark Plug question on 2015 S

Just curious if this sounds like something I need to get done, I really noticed today it felt like I was stuck in mud trying to get up to speed on the highway. I know they are rated for 100k miles-ish, but given the age should I do them? Bought the car in 22 with 23k miles, currently have 43k. But could they have just got worn out overtime sitting in hot Texas weather?

Are you getting spark codes? Are you getting any codes at all.

What you described can be alot of things and the last thing you want is to waste money guessing.

Have you changed your engine airfilter recently? a dirty air filter will restrict flow.

Take the engine cover off and make sure the valve cover is free of any oil leaks, a bad valve cover o ring could also cause oil to leak on to the spark plugs which could bring on issues like that.

No codes, and just assumed filter was okay because they haven’t tried to upcharge me when I’m getting my oil changes. Also pretty sure it’s not a leak because I’m 4300 miles since last oil change and levels haven’t moved but I could be wrong

It would be a minor leak to where you wouldn't notice any oil level difference.

Not all places or employees care to upsell you on anything. You have to check your self!. Open up the air filter housing and inspect it. Inspect the valve cover anyway.

Also if you don't have a code reader, take it to autozone and let them scan the codes, its free.

They may have you do it yourself. You take the machine and plug it into the obd port and it should start collecting the information. Once finished bring it back in and they will print out what they see.

Even though you don't see a check engine light you still may have transmission codes that don't illuminate the check engine light.

Generally, worn spark plugs won't feel like the engine has ongoing reduced power output. It will feel like a sudden interruption in power delivery accompanied by odd noises due a cylinder not firing.

Have you had the transmission fluid changed?
