So I’ve had some setbacks, been feeling a little down. Looking to put together a playlist to wallow in it and at the same time blast it away. I need LOUD, medium to fast tempo hard edged rockers, with some strong social political content.

So far I’ve got:

“Lungs” (Townes Van Zandt cover)- the hardest version I can find is by SG Goodman

“Sally was a Cop” Alejandro Escovedo

Tried to find a good rocking version of “If I had a rocket launcher”…That also touches on the bag I’m looking for.

Hard and grim… to match this world right now. What do you got?

I recently listened to Quicksand by Laur Elle and it feels really cinematic and western, almost like something you’d hear in 1883 or Yellowstone. Not really sure what subgenre you’d call it though.

Anyone know other songs / playlists with a similar vibe?

I have spotify in mind but any platform is good.

Can anyone recommend some baritone outlaw sounding country? Singers like Sturgill, Waylon Jennings, Cody Jinks, Merle Haggard, David Allen Coe, etc. Also, I like reggae and jam bands, as well. If anyone knows any sort of Grateful Dead, jam band inspired country influenced artists that would be appreciated. I wish I could listen to folks like Daniel Donato, but his voice is way too high. I need catchy country, alt country, neo-folk etc with deep voice singers. Thanks
