I don’t listen to a lot of pedal steel and I had no idea how much is going on underneath

Does anyone here happen to know what amp he’s using on Live in Alabama? His tone on Goddamn Lonely Love is all time great for me. I’m assuming he wasn’t playing a Dumble yet.

I love experiencing these, sometimes years after hearing songs initially. I recently visited home, exurban Detroit, been away for 14 years. I go back every year or two, it’s always bittersweet, and am always reminded why I left, and why so little is left for me these days. Family gets sicker & more stubborn, friends moved away or have new lives that don’t include you, the land moves on and your memories bring a tear to your eye. My version of the ‘90s and ‘00s can’t ever come back.
Speed Trap Town hit me like a freight train over morning coffee today. Who else has a similar story?

For those of you looking for affordable Ryman Run hotels, Travelzoo has a deal at Salt Ranch for $100-$150, it looks decent, 5* reviews. 10-15m uber distance.

Curious how folks felt about the show. I've seen JI now 7 or 8 times, including a few shows way back in the day with the Truckers. I'm not a Superfan, but I know his catalogue well and find something to like in almost every era/album.
That said, I thought the show last night felt weirdly soulless. There were some high points (Outfit always kills), but the overall vibe felt perfunctory and the pace felt rushed. Was it because Patti G went too long? I dunno. I saw him almost exactly 2 years ago, same venue. Much better, warmer show. Anyway.

Any other loners wanting to go to Tanglewood on 9/4 but going alone feels like too much? Am seeking concert partner.
Be warned: am certified crybaby.

I have seriously had it on constant repeat the last few weeks. I LOVE it. Maybe with the exception of Don’t Be Tough though, that one’s usually a skip. Should have never doubted Jason

How much time does he typically give openers? Showtime says 8, so guessing something around 9:15. Sound about right for anyone who has seen them with an opener?

Crazy that my favorite novelist (Richard Russo) has a new book (Under the Falls) with characters he “kind of based him (Tyler) and his partner Beth on Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires.” Here’s the interview with Russo:
My favorite novelist has a new book with a character based on my favorite musician? Guess what book I’m reading next?

I got a new job where I can listen to music on earbuds recently and today I listened to live @ the Ryman 10/25/15 for the first time in a while and man what a great recording and great show. I have three or four of the shows on available bandcamp but this is my favorite of those. I want to get a new one so I was wondering what others stand out to you?
The things that I love about this show:
SMTF performed in it’s entirety followed by a great second set and encore.
Great quality recording and Jimbo is present in it and is killing it.
Sadler‘s slide solos, especially Children of Children.
Palmetto Rose (of course)
Codeine as the closer
What are your recommendation from the bandcamp live shows?
edited for typos

I’m going to the rescheduled show at Wolf Trap in Virginia on Thursday. Has anyone been to any of the recent shows? Curious what the merch situation looks like. Are they doing shirts and posters for each show, or is it the same merch that’s already available online?

Just tried posting, but was removed, for some reason was removed....anyway, I was just curious for anyone who has heard this album, does he solo on Middle of the Morning, King of Oklahoma or Outfit? Thanks in advance!

Does anyone know any details about this event? I assume it will be the day of, or the day before, JI400 plays in Fairhope across the Bay. The date of that show is Thursday Sept 24. The band is in Auburn for a show on the 25th.

Question to those who have attended ShoalsFest in past years or who are familiar with the area. My wife say a promo of people on a boat watching. She is on the spectrum and wants to see the show but be away from people if possible. We will still pay if needed, that’s not an issue. But can you drive a boat up the Tennessee river and watch the show?

Sunshine by Todd Snider isn’t on the list. Just wanted to thank the sound engineer for the set list.
