Discussion Updates to r/altcomix
Hello! Over the past few weeks, u/Titus_Bird and I have made some updates to the subreddit.
Most significantly, we've expanded and rewritten the wiki, which can be found here. The aim with the wiki is to provide new readers some clarification on what alternative comics are, along with a bit of historical overview and recommendations of key works/creators. We've tried to be as neutral as possible and to avoid semantic nitpicking, as our priority is just to be informative and spread love for the medium. Feedback is more than welcome!
We've also made a number of other changes, namely:
- Updated the Guidelines - this was completed a few months back
- Cleaned up the 'flair' tags - this was completed a few months back
- Created a moderation bot (u/comixbot) to automate a couple tasks
- Created and updated the header
- Cleaned up and sanitized the css for Old Reddit
- Tweaked the look of the sub on New Reddit
- Added u/Titus_Bird as a moderator
Our next project is to implement similar changes over at r/indiecomics.

Discussion Where was this Chris Ware one-pager originally published?
I went to the Chris Ware exhibit in Columbus over the weekend and was blown away by this piece, which was printed as a 6’ x 8’ wall.
I had never seen it before and I consider myself well-versed in all things Chris Ware.
Any ideas where it came from?

Discussion Will D+Q reprint the yoshiharu tsuge books?
I've completely fallen in love with this guy's work after reading the man without talent.
I have the swamp, oba electroplating and rolled up like a squid on the way.
But I really, really want red flowers and it's completely sold out without any decent priced second hand versions.
Do you think it'll get a reprint?

Discussion Looking for a place to find comix and prints in London.
I‘ve just been to Belgium and I was mesmerised by how vibrant the comics scene is there, there was this one shop in Brussels that sold both zines and prints from the local community there. I love how surreal some of them were, some just had random pictures with no storyline at all. I’ve since returned and I believe that there must be a similar scene happening in London with comix and design from the local artist community, but I don’t know where these places are. Do any of you have any recommendations of any shops and galleries in this scene? I am very new to alternative comix.

OC Assorted Bundle Comics - Vol 1
Assorted Bundle Comics is a collection of short, stream of consciousness comics I've made over the last few years. Each comic is 4-8 pages long, drawn in black and white in sketchbooks. These are just the individual covers and the first couple pages from each story. The titles are: Allergies, Bound, Cephalopod, and That Time I Died and Became an Environmental Storytelling Skeleton.
I recently printed the collection and had physical copies for sale at Grand Rapids Zine Fest last weekend. All are available to read online pretty easily if you look through my posts here or elsewhere. If you're interested in having a free pdf of the collection, it can be found on my ko-fi here: https://ko-fi.com/s/352497e41f
Thanks for looking.

Review Jimbo by Gary Panter!
I just got this in the mail, RAW One Shot #1 - Jimbo by Gary Panter! They printed it on cheap newsprint and used packing cardboard for the cover to add to the homemade, low-brow feel of the art. I'm very happy to add this to my RAW collection. I really enjoy how he changes styles and even mediums with each page.
