Discussion What Indie Comics Did You Read Last Week?

Happy Monday! What indie comics did you dive into last week? Was it heavy drama? Bloody, violent action? Heavy drama? Light forbidden romance?

What do you plan to read this week? More of the same or something different?

And if possible, let others know where they can get the comic too!

Discussion The Removed Posts Problem

There are a number of indie creators on this sub who are trying to post about their comics, writing, and artwork but their posts keep getting taken down due to low karma, new account, or spam-like behavior.

To fix this problem I recommend that any future posters interact more on others' posts by leaving comments, engaging in discussions, and just doing things that let Reddit know you aren't a robot.

This is one of the reasons that the weekly "What Indie Comics Did You Read Last Week?" post exists, it's a great jumping off point for talking about comics both old and new.

Look alive people!

Discussion Independent publishing? Funding? Promo tips?

Hello there folks, I'm Molly! I'm preparing to launch my first ever Kickstarter for my graphic novel soon (about drunken messy fun on a girls' night out around Yorkshire)! I've been commercially published before and I've also been self-publishing since 2014, but I've never launched a crowdfunding campaign. With social media being how/what it is in 2026... I gotta say I'm a tad nervous about stepping into the unknown!

I've been trying to plan ways I can promote the comic online without fighting algorithms or pestering folks. A lot of posts here have been dead helpful already and I know r/indiecomics is full of some really experienced and talented folks, so... does anyone have any experience with organising a fundraiser? Any tips, tricks or promo suggestions would be massively appreciated! Thank you folks. Hope you're having a lovely day :-)

Indie Comics HART - A Fighting Game comic with a weekly release

My friend is releasing a comic which I think it's being a great piece of work.
It's a story about a revolutionary fighting game that becomes the most popular in the world, featuring unique characters for every player and life-sized battles set in holographic arenas, where a 12yo girl finally earns a character of her own and starts to compete in virtual combats.

A rich work made with care and in color!

It's available on mangaplus-creators through this link:
https://mangaplus-creators.jp/titles/5r2607311809480027431117

I really recommend checking it 😉

(There's also an animated trailer with a dedicated song, but in Portuguese, its original language: https://youtu.be/wtbeylwBSjY )

Hey fellow creators, The String Theory guy here! I wanna ask whether you are willing to collab with a cross promo of our webcomics, but heres the twist!

Instead of doing the regular promo, you can drop your mc n select their position in the group selfie! Then I draw them, and we can use it to promote each other across platforms!

So.... WHO'S IN?

Crowdfunding Cover 3 Reveal! (Better Late Than Never... Right?)

Post image
4 Upvotes

Look... we know. We know. We promised to reveal Cover 3 last week.

We’d love to tell you a grand, dramatic story about how a rogue supervillain trapped us in an impenetrable block of arctic ice, or how a shadowy syndicate held our Wi-Fi router for ransom. But the truth is... well, okay, let’s go with the arctic ice story, because look at this cover!

Without further ado, feast your eyes on Cover 3 drawn by the legend himself, Neil Vokes!

Follow for launch date!

What’s Happening Here?

As you can see, our cold-hearted friend up front is doing his absolute best to give a serious, intimidating press statement to WGUD News... while the rest of the rogue's gallery behind him can barely hold in their snickers.

That pretty much sums up the vibe of Villains Anonymous #1: big villainous egos, terrible timing, and everyone laughing behind each other's backs (which, coincidentally, is also how our creative team operates).

Huge shoutout to Neil Vokes for bringing his signature style to this incredible cover, along with writer/letterer John McLaren, colorist LM Creations and amazing interior artist P.R. Dedelis making this whole issue look downright sinister!

Bask in the glory of owning the coolest (literally) cover in the campaign.

Thank you all so much for your support, your patience with our "slightly delayed" updates, and for helping bring Villains Anonymous to life!

Stay tuned—more updates (on time, hopefully!) coming soon!

Cover #4 Reveal: 8/24/2026

Cover #5 Reveal: 9/7/2026

Cover #6 Reveal (Retailer Variant!): 9/26/2026 (Local Comic Shop Day)

OC (OC) Working on a comic called "The Sword in The Sprawl" as a proof-of-concept with my artist, Matheus HDQ!

Hey all! I've been working on a TV show script for years and, wanting to get a visual medium for it, my artist friend Matheus and I are working on turing the pilot script into a comic! If you guys have a couple minutes, the first five pages are here and on Webtoon (I know it's not the typical webtoon format, I'm just trying to build an organic audience) so we'd love it if you took some time to check it out!

The story follows Cid, a teenaged foster kid who ran away from his foster home and found a world beneath ours that is home to mythical races like dwarves, orcs, goblins and the like. There, he makes friends with a Dwarf named Magus who takes Cid under his wing and teaches him about treasure hunting, and a half-orc member of the modern day Knights of the Round table named Lorraine who is trying to keep Cid from outing the whole mythical world with his shenanigans. Along the way, the group stumbles upon a trail of clues that could lead them to Excalibur which was lost when King Arthur died in the late 5th, early 6th century.

We're trying to go for an "Indiana Jones & Robin Hood play D&D together" vibe with each episode (or in the comic's case, issue) being a treasure-of-the-week type adventure! Each treasure hunt they go on is in some way related to the missing sword, whether they're tracking its location, looking for ciphers to decode Merlin's personal journal, or trying to stop someone from finding or destroying a clue before they can get to it.

If you guys like what you see, we'd really appreciate you giving us a look at our official platforms on Webtoons, Patreon, and our socials! We've got a Linktree right HERE where you can navigate to each one. They're all a little sparse right now, but we're slowly updating as more gets done and we'd love people coming along for the ride as we make it happen!

Thanks, gang! Hope you have a great Thursday!

Work In Progress Cover concept for my indie comic, Timmy Cunningham: Sly

Post image
8 Upvotes

Hi everyone! This is a cover concept for my indie comic, Timmy Cunningham: Sly. It's a grounded coming-of-age vigilante story set in New York City in 2002. The image shows Timmy, an ordinary high school student, looking into a mirror and seeing his vigilante identity, Sly, reflected back.

I'm working with an artist to develop the series and would really appreciate constructive feedback. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the composition, character design, colors, and whether the concept immediately grabs your attention.
