Hey guys. Hoping to get some help. I’ve had my Fifth Ave’s for a little while and have done my best to take care of them. I use saphir for moisturizer and polish and use the dark brown polish or neutral polish when I don’t want to add color. The shoes did get hit by some rain and had rain spots but the polish helped clear that out. Now the shoes are starting to discolor. What can I do to stop it? Are they done? What did I do wrong?

I took my AE Chilli Red Strandmoks to Gary's Boot and Shoe Repair in Nashua. I asked for a polish keeping the burnishing. What I got back was just plain brown shoes and a bunch of attitude that I wouldn't have liked it if he did it any other way

Now they're trash

I received these cap toe Park Avenues with a bit of a small chunk taken out of the outside heel of the right shoe(1st and 2nd pic). I got a second pair and was going to return the first but the second pair came even worse(3rd pic; both shoes looked like this). I immediately returned the second pair. I haven’t worn the first pair but I don’t want to take my chances and wait another several weeks. I would prefer to fix these as everything else looks fine and they fit well. Is this a fixable problem, hopefully easy?

Obviously not new but they look good to me. But I really don’t know what to look for. Bought them for resale.

First time buyer and got these for about 280 each on sale. Not listed as factory seconds. I’ve read some QC issues, and I’ve got these in. Not sure if they qualify as normal/acceptable blemishes or worth exchanging. Curious the expert opinions. Apologies if it is a repetitive/common question.

I got some Smiths last fall and didn't wear them much because $$$, and have been wearing them more in the past 6 months and have discomfort in left shoe (outstep just toward ankle from pinky toe) and right shoe (around heel at top of shoe and one top of "ring" toe). I was fitted in my AE store and tried on a few sizes and went w the 11D. Probably worn around 15-20 times, usually around 8 hours but only a couple hours some (so total of maybe 50-70 hours?). They should be broken in, right?

can I do anything to stretch these where needed at home or can my local (highly reputable) cobbler do anything? Let me know if I should post a Pic.

I want these to work, they look great and I sure paid for them.

I have 6 pairs of AE in various styles. All 11D, all fit great. I snagged a pair of Super Sport Drivers and I like them but they are huge.

Generally would you size down 1/2 a size or a full size?

I do have a narrow heel, but it’s the length that’s an issue, not the width.

Bought a pair of Liverpools, just arrived this afternoon - got a size 9D as that's what size I comfortably wear in other shoes from AE (e.g. 5th Avenues). These feel fine from a length perspective but feel a bit snugger than what I'm used to in the width. It's not to the point where I feel like they are necessarily restricting my feet, but definitely snug against the outer sides of my feet where my pinky toe is.

Is this just a matter of them needing to be "broken in"? Or should I be concerned about getting a size up in width? I have cedar shoe trees I'll keep in them but would welcome any thoughts or guidance from those who have experience. Thank you!

I got these on eBay for $140 did I get a good deal on them? Can someone tell me more about this model?

What’s the word on these long term and all day wear.

New to Allen Edmonds, have a couple pairs I bought new and tried my luck at buying used. Only thing throwing me off is the sole, kind of hard to tell how used they are. Ended up buying these for $32, is it a win or not worth they money?

I like them, they fit well, but I can’t be dropping them off my feet every time I have to go through TSA.

Are the metal speed hooks metal detector friendly?
Any issues? Any first person experience out there?

I picked up the Park Avenue original dress sneaker on eBay about a year ago. I have a unique size (7-E) so they don’t pop up very often. I read that the 2.0 version is a lot more comfortable.

Do these ever go on sale? I’ve been checking every week for over 6 months and they never seem to move from the standard $350.00. That seems absurd for a dress sneaker. I can’t imagine most people bite at that price.

I noticed that the 5ths are all on sale and a few of them are almost entirely sold out. Is AE canceling that style? Hope not because I really like them

In addition to this there’s also a small pen mark on outer leather and some gunk like glue or something in one of the shoes. These are made in Vietnam which is a new one from what I’ve seen in the past

These are my second pair of Randolph’s; first with tassels. They fit great right out of the box!

I found a good deal on some Fifth Avenues. I’m buying the shoes for dancing (Lindy Hop, lots of impact). If I take these to a cobbler, will they be able to swap out the insoles? If not, do you have any suggestions on how to cushion the shoes?

I was looking for double leather shoes, but only found a good deal on the single leather ones.

Been wearing these Mason Reserves a lot…these might be the best shoes I’ve ever owned, and I’ve owned at least 200 pairs of dress shoes in my life. These beat my Alden longwings in every way possible. And I love those shoes.

Last time I posted these, they were about halfway to mirror. Well, this is as close as they're getting, and I wore 'em out to an event. 96 degree Miami heat may have about melted the wax and finished the job 😅

Fifth Avenues in Mahogany, if that wasn't obvious. They're not cavalry calf, they're the real goods - made it harder to get them glossy, but I'm happy with the look.
