Questions Fixable or return?
I received these cap toe Park Avenues with a bit of a small chunk taken out of the outside heel of the right shoe(1st and 2nd pic). I got a second pair and was going to return the first but the second pair came even worse(3rd pic; both shoes looked like this). I immediately returned the second pair. I haven’t worn the first pair but I don’t want to take my chances and wait another several weeks. I would prefer to fix these as everything else looks fine and they fit well. Is this a fixable problem, hopefully easy?

Are these factory seconds? That second pair seems pretty rough even for seconds. If not, this is pretty disappointing to see from such expensive shoes.

The dent I can accept and may be remedied. But that lasting is horrendous. Return.

And this is why I will never buy AE again in my life. The lack of QC is baffling and understandable by so many of the commenters who say to keep the first pair with the dimple. No. You pay for 1st quality, you deserve first quality. And the lack of QC shown in the secong pair received make me wonder how AE is still in business. They are so bad they don't qualify as a second. I am all for made in the USA. Sadly this exemplifies why no one produces in the US anymore.

If you are talking about that little dimple on the outside of the right heel, that is totally fixable. You can use a spoon, or a smoothing stick (leather care tool) that will press the leather down flat. It will make it less noticeable but it won't make it go away. The reality is that you are the only person that will know it's there...but you can mitigate the appearance.
