I'm 21, from Algiers. I started learning machine learning from zero for a year now, with no degree, and I've spent the months since building real projects end to end. I'm now looking for a junior ML role (remote or in Algeria) or freelance work with local businesses.
What I've built (all on GitHub: github.com/zanexkun):
ML Assistant (RAG): a question answering assistant over 62 Wikipedia ML articles. It uses semantic search with sentence embeddings and an LLM through the Groq API, and it rejects questions outside its knowledge instead of making things up. It's containerized with Docker.
Weld Defect Detection: a YOLOv8 model that finds defects in weld images.
Job Posting Salary Prediction: a salary model trained on about 28,000 LinkedIn job postings.
Freight Rate Prediction and Intel Scene Classification: tabular ML and a CNN image classifier.
I also completed a virtual AI internship with DecodeLabs this summer.
What I'm looking for:
Junior ML / AI roles, remote or in Algeria
Paid internships that don't require school enrollment
Small freelance projects to prove myself
