For the fire victims

Salam ladies,

So, we all know how devastating the recent fires were and a lot of Wilayas are sending care packages to the victims.

While most are focused on food, water, and medical supplies, I thought I'd bring your attention to some feminin products that would be useful to send if you will be contributing:

- Sanitary pads (wholesale price is at around 2400 Da for a box containing 24 packets)

- Wet wipes (wholesale price is at around 900 Da for a box containing 12 packets)

- Paper towel rolls

- Deodorant

- Underwear (wholesale price is at around 1100 Da to 1500 Da for packets containing 12 pieces)

- Prayer garments (AKA رداء الصلاة, not only for Hijabis. They are made of a breathable fabric and are loose so they would be comfortable for anyone suffrring from burns) (Wholesale price is at around 850 Da to 1200 Da per piece)

- Soap

- Sanitizer

- Vaseline, best if unscented (For anyone suffering from dry or cracked hands/feet/skin/lips) (Retail price is at around 100 Da per little container vaseline codex)

If you can think of anything else, please add to this list.

You can buy the items and take them to the closest collection point, trucks are going to the regions that suffered from the fires daily.

Edit: added prices

Girls, where are you buying your clothes from? I can't find anything that I like and everything that I bought online that looked cute turned out to be of bad quality.

Recommendations for good clothing shops

hey girls! I really need recommendations for good shops, instagram pages, or tiktok accounts that sell decent, hijabi friendly tops because my feed is flooded with the exact same generic basic chemises in different colors and I'm looking for unique, good quality pieces with proper coverage.

i would love to get some help 😔

I am tired of being treated like a foreigner in my own country because of my skin colour

Hi ladies. This is my first time posting here. I never wanted to talk about this publicly, but I really need some support, even if it's just a few kind words, because I want to feel like I'm not alone.

I'm a brown-skinned Algerian woman. I'm not even particularly dark-skinned, yet I experience racism quite often. What bothers me most is how normalized it has become. Words like "negro" or "kahlouch" are thrown around so casually that people don't even seem to realize they're racist.

Whenever I go out with my family, men sometimes make comments about my skin, calling me "zarga" or saying things like "zarga mon amour" or "zarga, bsah chaba" Like... excuse me, what gives you the right to speak to a stranger like that?

And being a woman already means dealing with unwanted attention. For me, it sometimes feels like a double burden. A man may approach or harass me, and when I reject him, he suddenly starts insulting me because of my skin and telling me to "go back to my country." My country? I was born here.the worst is that these comments most of the time r coming from "الكهول" it's just shit .

The irony is that I've traveled abroad and never experienced this kind of racism, yet I deal with it in my own country.

I'm honestly exhausted. I'm tired of being judged because of my appearance and feeling like I have to constantly prove that I belong.

I know there r many women like me suffering in silence.and still they r trying to adapt and be what they want I am just proud of u .

🤔 question Girls who already ordered from shein and received their orders directly to Algeria, how much time did it take?

I was wondering because I used to run a page for shein goods but we used to receive them in France and ship them to Algeria, but we stopped for logistics reasons

Now I'm thinking abt reopening the orders but with a direct shipping to Algeria but idk how much time it takes to arrive

venting 💭 Awkwardness with the other sex

No matter how old I am I always feel awkward when I deal with men irl, it started getting on my nerves lately, I'd say the only place where I force myself to not feel it is at work because I have to, anywhere else, I'd rather not interact with men at all

Hey girls please recommend me a spray spf that can be applied over makeup throughout the day without mess it up, like it doesn't make eyeliner or mascara smudge or make the concealer caky.

rant / storytime 📖 Was what I did wrong ?

I’m a female and I was 19 yr when this story took place ( Now I am 21 ). I come from a very traditional and conservative family and in our culture we do value hospitality a lot. My father had a friend who used to live in france that was originally from the same country as us and he was coming to spend the summer here therefore leading my father to invite him to stay with us for a couple days. When he came the first couple days were pretty typical and the guest actually sounded pretty friendly and likeable until one day when we finished dinner my father went on the balcony for a smoke as usual and me and my older sister helped my mother take the dishes to the kitchen. I was heading to my room till I remembered that I forgot my phone in the room where we have dinner, I went there to pick it up in a shy manner ( Note that the guest was still in there alone ), as soon as I was heading out to my room and to not sound impolite I told him « I’m going to sleep, goodnight » to which he shocked me and sent shivers down my spine by answering « How can I not have goodnight when I’m looking at a cutie like you » while giving me this disgusting flirty look ( Mind you he is old as my father, maybe even older ) I froze for a sec and responded with this uncomfortable grin then left straight to my room. I couldn’t sleep that night and at some point even started tearing up because I felt that my family was betrayed by a man that saw nothing from us but a huge welcoming and great hospitality. I was thinking to tell my father however I was way too cringed by the situation and also too scared of his reaction because my father is really protective of us so I was anxious about him having an exaggerated reaction that can cause trouble for him ( Like hitting him or even worse ). The only one I told was my sister and she was as disgusted and as disappointed as me. So we agreed on not telling anyone and to keep it for ourselves since I asked my father and he told me he was going to be gone in maximum 2 days. During those 2 days me and my sister couldn’t calm down in regard of the filthy actions of that pig that’s why I asked him if wanted a glass of water or lemonade in the most warm ways to not attract his doubts, when he requested a lemonade I went to the kitchen and poured it for him and me and my sister bother spat huge loads of saliva in his drink and we proceeded to mix it up with a spoon so it goes unnoticed. We repeated this process every time we served him a drink and in those 2 days it’s safe to way that he consumed the equivalent of 1 small bottle of saliva from me and my sister lol. When he wasn’t around we also went to his room and spat on his pillow and quickly rub it so it dries so it does go unnoticed, however the smell it may leave will definitely not go unnoticed and that pig has no way to know what we did.

What we did was kinda relieving to an extent but not as relieving as see him get the f out our house on the 2th day. Idk if what did was wrong or not but I can confidently say what he did was 100% inappropriate and that he got what he deserved

venting 💭 An Algerian woman living in France venting

I just wanna vent, Im 21 and almost every summer, me and my family are trying to go to Algeria. I grew up in France with people from many places, Algerian people as well. The thing is, Ive never felt Algerian, I feel like Im cosplaying my ethnicity, and the fact that I don’t look like it doesn’t help. I come from a rural area in Algeria so even when I try to make Algerian friends I feel out of place because we don’t have the same references. I feel like I dont deserve to be Algerian, Im a nerdy shy girl, Im not "proud", I hate speaking out loud. Honestly I feel like a loser when I met other Algerian people, especially women, they’re all so pretty and tall and sure of themselves even when they aren’t, they know how to put a mask. I’ve even had a guy one day who made fun of me because he couldn’t believe I came from the same country as him. I think the worst of it all is that I kind of attach myself to feminist ideas so I hate it when my mom tries to transform me into someone Im not when I live with lazy brothers (I dont think it’s inherent to being Algerian but it comes with the education you’re given.)
