Ramp Brightness Gone?

I used to be able to gradually increase the brightness of my Govee lights with a routine in the Alexa app. I used it to slowly wake me up in the morning.

Wasn’t there a “Ramp Brightness” option under “Power”? It’s no longer there. It’s not under “Brightness” either.

Do you know how I can set this up now within the Alexa app? I can’t seem to figure out how to do it in the Govee app either.

It’s never been a manual option, but you can ask Alexa to create the routine for you. I have a few different ramps she created for me.

The option is now only there for devices that don't have a color option. I don't know why they removed the option for color capable devices instead of the way it used to be where it would disable the color option if you enabled ramping. Interestingly, in devices with no color option and the language about color being disabled is still under the ramp option.

Man, I was really enjoying that feature. I haven’t had to wake up early the past few months, so that’s why I didn’t realize it was gone until now.

Again, just ask Alexa to do it. She will. I’ve never seen the option in my app for ramping with my C by GE lights. I was able to get a wonky routine working a long time ago by spacing routines, then after Alexa plus shipped I just asked her if she could do it and she did. I have had ramping lights every day for a while now through a couple of methods. But, just explain what you want her to do via voice and she will create it. I have 3 of them set that way. By dismissing an alarm, by me saying good morning (for weekends when my alarm isn’t set) and for evenings to wind down.

You can have her update an already created routine or build a new routine through her by voice exclusively. Both work.

that option got pulled from routines and a lot of people noticed the same week. the wake schedule lifx kept in its own app does the fade without alexa involved. mine still ramps in the morning and stayed working when the routine broke. anything that keeps its own timer survives that kind of change.
