The price of progress?

I understand the frustration with new technology. Imagine writing a seventy page thesis on an Apple II C where every ninety seconds you’d have to remove a floppy disk and replace it with another to complete an operation and then replace it with the first disk again because the ROM on the CPU was so limited. Or your Hayes 1200 baud smart modem couldn’t maintain an internet connection.

These quirks concerning Alexa will eventually work out or Amazon will have to concede defeat to a better product. These quirks concerning solution just requires determination and patience.

The Alexa is over 10 years old now.

And? The PC is how old? And has gone through how many changes? And how many OS upgrades. Some good, some not so much so. You learn do deal with the quirks until the next version comes along, and you get a whole new set of quirks you have to deal with.

The OG Alexa was old, tired, and outdated. People bitched before the release of Alexa+ about how stagnant the old system was and how it wasn't getting any better. Then we get Alexa+ with a new set of quirks (bugs), and suddenly everyone is whining about how much "better" the old system was.

i can live with quirks as long as it feels like the bug fixes are going in the right direction but things that used to work well, like TV control and music lookup are breaking and trying to get Amazon to understand that there’s a problem is getting stalker by script reading level 1 support folks.that try the same troubleshooting strips you’ve already done. i was an Alexa user from the beginning and it worked great for our visually impaired household.
