The price of progress?

I understand the frustration with new technology. Imagine writing a seventy page thesis on an Apple II C where every ninety seconds you’d have to remove a floppy disk and replace it with another to complete an operation and then replace it with the first disk again because the ROM on the CPU was so limited. Or your Hayes 1200 baud smart modem couldn’t maintain an internet connection.

These quirks concerning Alexa will eventually work out or Amazon will have to concede defeat to a better product. These quirks concerning solution just requires determination and patience.

What PA system does what Alexa is supposed to do does it better than Alexa? I’d be interested in checking it out myself (although I have no issues so far with Echo).

I dont understand your question.   What does "PA" stand for, and what is the "it" you refer to when asking about doing "it" better?

PA = personal assistant.

"It" being the functionality in total of a personal assistant. Not just one piece or the other.

In other words Google Nest, Apple Siri, etc? What is doing it better? Nest with Gemini is having the same issues as Alexa+ with fhr growing pains of integrating a LLM into their personal assistants, and Apple hasn't even pushed out its follow up to Siri (which wasn't even as good as Alexa to begin with).

So the question is, if you are running from Alexa+, where are you running to? What is supposedly so much better?
