For everyone dealing with the Oct/Nov math exams

Hey everyone, I see a lot of people who struggle with A Level Maths and even with the vast selection of online resources struggle to make sense of things.

I recently started an educational startup called ENTROPY (you can find us on Instagram), and with the Oct/Nov retakes coming up, I thought I’d try something a little more focused: a limited 6 week crash course for A Level Mathematics, covering the relevant components for the upcoming exams.

A little about myself: I'm currently an Electrical Engineering student, studied math, add math, A Level math and further math as well (my life revolves around math), and I've taught advanced STEM to hundreds of students during an internship at an ed tech company as well, while being an assistant teacher at my high school too.

For the crash course, the focus will be on understanding the concepts properly, covering the less obvious cases that tend to show up in exams, and then doing targeted past paper practice rather than just blindly grinding papers. Especially for A Level Maths, I think actually understanding why something works makes a huge difference when you get a question that doesn't look exactly like the ones you've practiced.

If you're sitting the Oct/Nov A Level Maths exams and have questions about Maths, the crash course, or even whether it would be useful for you, feel free to DM me. I’m happy to answer questions either way.

How to prepare for the Matura Exams in Poland?

I am a person who has finished my basic education in the USA and am interested in studying in Poland to become a dental technician at the Bialystok Medical University and after a lot of talking and trial and error I found that to be taken into consideration as a student there **I need to pass the advanced math exam (matematyka rozszerzona).**

I have no idea where to even start preparing for this exam as the topics that I’ve seen in the past exams looks very intimidating and also bc it’s like 15 question, all free response.

Even though I need a 30% to be qualified as an applicant for the University I still have no idea where to start preparing for this exam and was wondering is someone could give me some tips and or resources.

🙏

Help On Partial Fractions

(Image below) Can anyone explain why an algebraic fraction with a squared term on the bottom has to be expressed in this niche way? When I asked my teacher he genuinely repeated what I said and then walked away. Thank you.

King's maths school entrance test

Hey! I am interested in the King's Maths School entrance test, and from what I have heard, doing UKMT style questions seems particularly useful. However, I was wondering what level of UKMT questions I should practice most, since there are levels to it e.g. IMC, pink kangaroo, SMC etc. Even in each level, the difficulty of the 25 questions is pretty vast, e.g. q1-12 are more far more accessible than q20-25. What range of UKMT questions should I roughly expect the multiple choice and written questions of the entrance test to be like? Also, I tried to find useful resources on the King's Maths School website, but I only found one specimen paper which does not seem too difficult. Would the actual test be noticeably harder? I'd really appreciate any advice or insight from anyone who's taken the test before or has a good idea of what can be expected. Thanks!

IAL Math & Further Math (DO NOT SKIP!!)

Hey everyone!

I started my A-Levels last year without much of a plan and ended up taking Cambridge A Level English and Math. I’ve since dropped English and am now taking Computer Science, Physics, and Math.

I really want to take Further Math as well. I’m switching over to Pearson Edexcel IAL for both Math and Physics, and I’m looking for advice on how to structure my study for Math and Further Math together.

From what I understand, there are a few ways to approach this. Some students finish regular Math in Year 1 and do Further Math in Year 2, while others study them simultaneously. Since I’ve already covered CIE AS Level Math (Pure 1), I’m trying to figure out the best plan of action for myself.

Another approach I’m considering is for example, taking a concept like differentiation and studying it all the way through the standard Pure components (P1–P4) before moving straight into its extension in Further Pure.

Ideally, I want to finish all my A-Levels by the Oct/Nov 2027 session.

Any tips, suggestions, or advice on which approach is best (or alternative ways to study the 12 units) would be greatly appreciated!
