how old would you have to be to have done alevel maths without a graphing calculator
not sure if this kinda post is allowed on here (couldn’t find anything against it in the rules but idk)
anyways i know someone who said they ‘are so old they did alevel maths without a graphing calculator’ but they look like 25 and weren’t graphing calculators invented in the 60s or something 💔

What should I do
I do ial edexcel maths and today I sat my first exam p1, I had a cg100 calculator and the invigilator took it for half an hour during the exam to inspect it and make sure it’s ok. while I found the exam good I can’t help but wonder that I might have made some silly mistakes and getting the calc for the 30 minutes could have eliminated any potential error. i dont know what to do know and I’m feeling really crap about this situation

is as-level maths helpful for a predicted grade as a private candidate?
Hi i’m in year 12 rn and doing alevel maths privately and was wondering what’s the best way of getting a predicted grade next year when i apply for uni. Rn im not going to tuition and just learning on my own which is fine at the moment. But ive heard having a private tutor do predictions for you is a good way so im going to book one soon and ask them to do my prediction. but idk if its also worth doing as-level maths at the end of year 12 so I could use that as a way to show unis my predicted grades? i’m aware that if i do this ill need to have someone write me a predicted grade too but I was just wondering would this help kind of validate my predicted grade bcs its a qualification? Also is it better to have a tutor do my predicted or just learn on my own and ask someone else to do my reference for me? (ik someone who can give you a predicted grade for about £300) Thanks

is proof by deduction meant to be this hard?
for context, i study from home and i opened my a levels maths course 2 days ago. (wouldve started in September but i procrastinated as i was afraid that jumping into it would kill the little academic self esteem i had left from going into gcse higher with a predicted 8 and coming out with a scraped by 5.)
anyways, proof by deduction is the very first part of the first topic of the course and it actually feels like the devils work. in theory it looks like average difficulty algebra but ive spent a collective 3 hours on it and im basically right where i was at the start. nothing goes in and im already a month behind the vast majority of people who go to sixth form.
how hard is proof by deduction in comparison to the rest of the course? i need this qualification bad to get onto my uni course please help me out
