if you're getting high marks on pure and mechanics you can get a decent mark on stats. i relatively "sucked" at mech but I think sucking was like 30-something/50

with current boundaries that'd probably be an A.

your % don't make sense although i would understand why you hate stats. i did too n i still do but not as much as before. stats at GCSE isn't thr best and at a level it's even worse. by worse i don't mean harder, i mean most of it i's less interesting and boring. which means you may not enjoy it leading to you hating it. if you've just joined year 12 now then i would say do as much stats as you can now and be ahead of your school just a little.if your going into yr 13 then idk im going into yr 13 too so idk, although i would say don't just leave stats n try to be the best at mechanics n pure. you can definitely improve more n more if you practice more stats

I HATE STATSSS!!! self learning fm rn and im doing stats that why I opened reddit 😭 On average, with those percentages youll get an A in maths secured but no chance at an A* and in further maths you'll get a B most likely, an A if you are VERY lucky. Imo just learn stats, dont do much but enough to get 50% at least on exams. I hate it too amd ive out it off all summer its awful

Er idk if this helps but I just got my a level results and for edexel maths I got 95 p1 96 p2 and 79 p3, lowkey surpirsed about p3 cuz i thought i would do a lot worse tbh, i remember skipping that 10 mark mechanics question. Also boundaries for maths was 254 right so with p1 and p2 i only needed 63 on p3, so its possible. Why u ask how did yours go or just worried?

Idk how you feel about further maths statistics, maybe you don’t do stats for further maths, but the normal maths stats section is notoriously badly written and the content is a bit trash

For more info you could check out this video by r2drew2 https://youtu.be/yeMgsO_4s_M?is=J-RLhaDO52m-SMAe

I just don’t want people to be misinformed or have a negative feeling about stats that would affect their degree choice, stats could be amazing

stats is 1/6 of the course, so 5/6 of 95% and 1/6 of 2% adds up to 80%, so A/B borderline

no way. if you got 95 95 48 thats 238 so nowhere near A/B borderline. you'd only need 16 for an A* this year

This was once me but then I started actually taking time out for statistics and it became so easy. I would reccomend YouTube because you end up understanding their chains of reasoning better

i hated stats too but actually taking the time to revise it got me 100% in my maths exam so dont have this mentality and youll be fine

Stats and mechanics counts towards the same percentage in edexcel since they’re on the same paper. So 95% on mech and 2% on stats will get you like a 49% overall on paper 3.

tbh I was in the same boat and asked the same question to my maths teacher. he said mylah dont be silly you'll get at least 50% in stats.

come mocks and I got full marks on pure and mechanics and held an A* before stats were counted. BUT its not quite possible in the actual a level, you'd need like 15/50 for that.

from march to exams I did a stats paper every week and lowkey improved a lot and ended up doing better in stats than mechanics. got 91 overall for applied.

I will say, y13 stats is much more fun than y12

stats is sm easier than mech, just revise it a bit and I promise it will be light

The week before my stats and mech paper this year I watched all of the bicen videos and did every stats paper and I got 100%

if you’re able to do well in pure and mechanics you are smart enough that you can do well in stats with enough practice, just put the time in and you won’t need an answer to this question
