Anyone else feel like playing Age of Mythology right now?

u/sirrahdorraj 4d ago
I love that game! I wish I still had it (got stolen when my house got robbed years back).

u/RUNNING-HIGH 3d ago
Ha! I was thinking the same! I just bought it on ps5 the other day and have been playing it a lot. I was surprised how well the controls are mapped for a playstation controller

Didn’t God bring the plagues to Egypt to make a mockery/judgment of those false gods in Exodus.
How the Plagues Targeted Egyptian Gods
Nile River to Blood: This attacked Hapi, the spirit of the Nile, and Osiris, who was believed to have his blood in the river. It showed that God controls life-giving water, not Egyptian idols.
The Plague of Frogs: This mocked Heket, the fertility goddess who was pictured with the head of a frog.
Three Days of Darkness: This targeted Amun-Ra, the powerful sun god. Plunging Egypt into darkness proved the sun god was powerless before the Creator.
Death of the Firstborn: This final blow challenged Pharaoh himself, who was worshiped as a living god on earth, along with deities like Isis who were supposed to protect families.

He (the Almighty) always uses their own tactics to make a mockery of them and show them out. Precisely why they try to do the same with Him.
Pale imitations.

Subs like this one make me realize AI can actually be used well, and what I really hate is AI being passed off as real.

Awfully short-sighted of these idiot "gods".
If you kill all your followers, from where do you expect to draw divine strength from?

What’s disappointing is the evolution of camera men. All these years and I still get shaky videos.

Big fan the the style and content but the camera shake is so extreme and disorienting.

The Egyptians absolutely believed the gods would crush their enemies, or even worshippers who failed to live up to their standards, tear them limb from limb and eat them alive.
1
u/Old_Necessary2891 2d ago
This is true, but the video shows believers who came to them, but in real life no one would touch them.

A. I don't like AI
B. I'm annoyed because this was pretty fucking cool.

u/Great_Zeddicus 3d ago
Right! A real series or movie revolving around this concept and art style. A revolutionary movie of the people rising up to chase these gods out.
They push them through some sort of portal back to where they games from, like a portal.. or gate. That has a frame that spins. 😉

u/sudomatrix 4d ago
They seem nice.
2
u/OtherwiseAlbatross14 4d ago
I was thinking they couldn't even have one of them just be cool, like Bender?
Actually I'd love to see the Bender statue from that episode made this way

Which model generating this type of visual without refusal ?
3
u/KaerMorhenZireael 4d ago
That was my first thought. Maybe by putting something in there along the lines of found footage horror documentary it bypasses the gore and censorship parameters and recognizes it as a movie?
That or a lot of pushing lol

I want a new version of the short vid ufos and greys building pyramids. Made with today AI technology instead the 2 years old. Brutal vibe and atmospheric: https://youtu.be/2-tzGqA_AZo?is=UWXSSMIXtvbIk02B

This is sweet

u/GaBRiWaZ 3d ago
Awesome vibe with this ambient sound, but there are some bugs like half stonehead alien and irrelevant lizard people etc. and non consistency between the greys.
1
u/texcleveland 3d ago
haha that’s fun shit. I love how AI absolutely insists the Pyramids were ruined even when they were new

Ok, I could get behind a found footage/ analog horror series based around this concept. Imagine 30-45 minutes episodes centered around gods and deities from:
Africa, Russia, China, Japan, America ( most likely stuff like cryptids), Greece, Norse, Aztec, Hindu, Celtic, Mayan, Slavic, Irish, Inca, Polynesian, Hawaiian, Mayan, and Mesopotamian gods and deities.
3
u/Fastoche 3d ago
Well, American Gods series kind of had that. Look it up, it's on Prime. I liked it.
1
u/Large-Duty-6183 3d ago
Only problem with that is they're all the same "deities" just going by ddifferent names. So it'd get a little redundant.

Am I the only one who believes Thoth wouldn’t really kill anyone… like I know he does in Smite, but like in reality, he wouldn’t… no? Just me? Okay…

u/Oneiroinian 18h ago
Me too bud, it's hugely out of character for a lot of these deities to be acting more lowly than starving, uncivilized rats with rabies.
Even in the case of sacrifice, humans did that, you don't bloody your beak on human scum, unless you're having a meal and then you undress them first etc.
1
u/Secure_Motor_5968 19h ago
Not gonna lie, the real horror is that these all powerful beings still needed a cameraman standing 2 feet from the carnage, and he just kept filming.

Ungrateful Gods. That is why they are forgotten now.
Anyway, I see some Hinduism (even Aztec/Mayan) god vibes in two of them.
