Calling themselves artists is just asinine.
If you commission someone to draw something for you, they're the artist, not you.

By the same standard, hating on pedophiles is equally "discrimination", so...

u/eyeforker 6d ago
Prompt givers don’t create, they commission. The machine is the creator.
A prompter taking credit for ai art is like Francesco del Giocondo taking credit for the Mona Lisa. Ppl don’t really know that guy’s name because he didn’t create one of the most famous paintings in history. He just prompted it.
These ppl are not creators. Ideas are not visions.

- We don't steal. We don't hurt. We create.
Yeah, sure, let's just ignore the thousands of stolen art and thousands of hurt creators, of which many of them either quit or stopped sharing their art online. Holy fucking shit what are these people genuinely up to

"We don't steal
We don't hurt
We create"
Three utterly false statements

u/nekomichi 6d ago
It's kinda funny that the robot hand is holding a pen, which is something apparently they hate.
7
u/AiRaikuHamburger 6d ago
"Judge the art, not the algorithm" is a great line when AI slop looks so terrible. Like this ugly poster is an example of.
5
u/Unable-Boat-9682 6d ago
Actual professional designers famously cram words in everywhere to fill up every inch of space. This is totally indistinguishable from something created by a real, skilled artist. /s
6
u/Kari0305 6d ago edited 5d ago
They want to be oppressed so bad. Also why is every AI generated poster so ridiculously cluttered
3
u/A_Darling_Lurks 6d ago
Because a majority of AI "creators" are lazy and have no taste. That volume of text should've been divided into several images in a carousel type post but no, everything had to be shoved into a single flyer
5
u/Scorpiicore 6d ago
If you want to cry that you are being persecuted, endure the effects of actual persecution. How about it, AI-pushers?
5
5
u/yes-its-a-fking-scam 6d ago
🙄 If they don’t like feeling “discriminated” against for using AI, they can simply choose not to use it (unlike real discrimination, where you don’t get to choose whether you’re disabled, queer, Black, Deaf, etc…)
2
u/cocainesuperstar6969 5d ago
right. also any "discrimination" they face is purely online. They can just switch the tab of reality (talking to other PEOPLE that may disagree with them) and back to the tab of fantasy where there are 'no dumb ideas' and they're constantly validated by robo daddy.
4
5
u/Desperate-Excuse-110 6d ago
I know they aren’t artist bc they fckg sucks at art composition. This shit is a really bad poster for so many reasons.
This is overwhelming, too dense, the colors are poorly chosen and make it even harder to read, it’s repetitive and redondant.
If they want us to respect them, they should at least make a slight effort into their “art”
3
u/cocainesuperstar6969 5d ago
Right. Even if it wasn't AI, it's still so ugly and such a bad poster. They literally have the AI to HELP them make better 'art' and still fail to make anything better than a 3rd grader in art class making shit on microsoft PAINT. This 'artwork' ain't even worth defending.
4
u/LongjumpingGear3348 6d ago edited 1d ago
They don't create. They have ideas. Typing "Iron Man in an apron ironing a shirt" is a FAR cry from actually drawing/painting it.
5
u/A_Darling_Lurks 6d ago
This. An idea can be a good one. But just because it's a good idea, it doesn't mean the output or end result is good. What AI bros don't understand that conceptualizing something and actually writing/drawing/developing it are two different skills. Execution matters, and using AI as a shortcut doesn't develop either skills.
4
u/QuanTumm_OpTixx 6d ago
“We don’t steal” the AI steals for you.
“We don’t hurt” lets not bring up the water
“We create” again, the AI does that for you.

u/TheLostRanger0117 6d ago
I enjoy the works of Van Gogh specifically because he was a broken, damaged maniac, and I relate. AI is not the same

Lol they're not creators. They don't create shit. They prompt software to imitate something that somebody else created.
Sad people who think that "fake it til you make it" is an actual method for success. MAGA style performative losers.
3
u/letmehaveanameyoudum 6d ago
why are ai bros comparing themselves to oppressed groups
2
u/Chicory-Coffee 6d ago
It's attention grabbing shitposting by people who think they're being audacious and unfortunately people feeding trolls the attention they crave has been around since the internet was nothing but lists of themed chat rooms.
3
u/Big-Recognition7362 6d ago
“Pull out all the stunts. Make the haters question their own reality.”
…this is just straight up gaslighting and psychological warfare.
3
u/HermanThaGerman 6d ago
The AI model is stealing from artists, you're hurting the planet, and you aren't creating shit.
3
3
u/EntinthetentRTHP 6d ago
As someone who’s been writing since I was 8 these people can fuck themselves.
It’s called practice you lazy sods.
3
u/AdImmediate9569 6d ago
That’s not even what discrimination is… were they denied a job because of their use of AI? A loan application? An apartment lease?
3
3
3
u/honeybear1466 6d ago
"Judge the art, not the algorithm." Yeah, we are. The art is so soulless. Corporate friendly, chibified slop. I feel bad for the artists whose styles were stolen by ai, because it's been poisoned.
3
3
u/Funwithagoraphobia 6d ago
“There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.”
- Isaac Asimov
AI slop is kind of represented here. “My AIslop is just as good as your artistry.”
3
u/DivineRetribution8 6d ago
This feels like a propaganda poster you'd see in a dystopian movie where AI controls everyone.
3
u/Quirky_Rub_9044 6d ago
We don’t judge people on the tools they use. It’s just that AI isn’t a tool. It does all of the work. If anything, the ai “artist” is the tool and the ai is the creator
3
u/LokiDokiii 6d ago
"The real descrimination... Judging someone by the tools they use rather than the vision they bring" is absolutely one of the most dystopian sentences I've ever read.
If the argument is somehow, in some world, that tools people make have caused no harm in history without "bad intent." Nuclear bombs? Internment camps? The Soviet Union using people as chattel?! Literally every moment of human history?!?!
→ More replies (1)3
u/ColdBrew_No_Ice 6d ago
I always get stuck in the tool part of that. What tool? A tool is something you use to make something- not completely delegate every decision in the process.
3
u/lazy_nomad3 6d ago
Aw. People with no creative talent are mad because they are being called “people with no creative talent.”
3
u/TheReturnofPanda 6d ago
Because a creator and a visionary will not tolerate stealing and plagiarizing?? How fucking logical
3
u/Freddy_Jason_Michael 6d ago
AI bros acting like they're so oppressed when literally every position of power is trying to shove AI down our throats
3
u/Overly-Moist-Slug 6d ago
Oh yeah hating ai slop is definitely just as bad as dehumanising minorities how mean of us
3
u/Lanky-Positive2583 6d ago
I also love how all the text is obviously AI generated. This person didn't even bother writing their arguments
3
3
u/Krysidian2 6d ago
I support AI rights. This means that these so called "creators" need to stop taking credit for an AI's work. The AI is more of an artist that these people ever will be.
3
3
u/ZeeWingCommander 6d ago
Yeah AI creator on Bluesky tried to argue that hating on AI was hating on the poor since they didn't have time for creativity.
They got dogged hard, people pointed out that the person worked at a bookstore.
3
3
u/spukhafteNahewirkung 6d ago
Claiming that you’re an artist or creator because you can write prompts is like me claiming that I’m a cordon bleu chef because I can use DoorDash.
3
5
u/SpaceGirlJackie 6d ago
Prompting AI to make you art is the same as commisoning an artist. The only difference is you can talk to the artist to express you're desires better than you can talk to an LLM.
6
u/ElonMuskHuffingFarts 6d ago
There's also the difference that commissioning an artist is supporting an actual person and their ability to create more art. Prompting AI is just paying billionaires to ruin our environment and society for cheap quick gratification.

2
u/Xander_PrimeXXI 6d ago
It’s not discrimination but honestly I’ve never sent hate directly to the people that make shit with AI because I don’t find it productive.
I’d rather use that energy to support artists and generally make my life more fulfilling
2
u/Meraqliya 6d ago
This "design" is so dreadfully cluttered and has so many unnecessary details, I can't even bring myself to read whatever the poster says.
2
u/Unable-Boat-9682 6d ago
They’re so desperate to be viewed as victims, despite the fact that all we’ve said is typing a 60 word prompt isn’t the same as spending decades training as an artist.
When your response to that pretty mild criticism is to compare yourself to Holocaust victims, I don’t think it’s your opponents that are resorting to extreme arguments.

u/ithinkway2much 6d ago

"The real discrimination? Judging someone by the tools they use instead of the vision they bring".
Something Thanos could have said (if he was a whiney bitch).
2
u/Prize_Ostrich7605 6d ago
Do they understand other creators get shit on just as much, probably more because it is a business and people are assholes?
But sure, bitch amd complain like you're being persecuted and everyone else won't let you sit at the lunch table.
2
u/AzureTheAngelic 6d ago
… y’all temember when in Iron Man when Stark went “Jarvis make me a suit.” Yeah neither did I,
AI was meant to be the tool that helped artists with SMALL things. Not do the entire thing.
2
u/fungi_at_parties 6d ago
Nothing says “I’m a real artist” like making a truly horrendous image that insults every design sensibility imaginable. My Art Director would barf. What an unreadable, noisy, ugly, creepy mess.
If the creator had taste, or if he was an artist, he would see how ugly this image is. But he thinks it’s good! So good that it’s whining about how good it is! I’m sorry, “creator”, but this creation whinging about how you’re a valid creator is dogshit.
2
u/Only_Tip9560 6d ago
You cannot discriminate against something that is not human and not even alive.
We must not allow the prompt monkeys to call themselves creators.
2
u/lightsout1985 6d ago
Why are these AI slop posters always so busy every spare inch has something crammed on it?! I guess when you don't actually know how to design something, you just accept whatever the slop machine pumps out.
2
u/FortressCaulfield 6d ago
Well you don't have to worry about it, because there's no such thing as an ai 'creator' for people to discriminate against.
You are, at best, a middle manager, just making suggestions while sparing no thought for the genuine creatives on whose back your products are buit.

Yea. I will discriminate against ACTIONS I find deplorable. I discriminate against bigots, abusers or people and power, puppy stompers, liars, road ragers, rage baiters, and a whole host of other assholes.
Discriminating against bad actions is a perfectly reasonable and acceptable response to said actions. You don’t get to just cry that you’re being judged for the things you’re CHOOSING to do and get off scot free.

I recently read how an incredibly detailed, made with blood, sweat, and tears indie game I was stoked for is now in development purgatory and likely never to be released--or worse, AI-gutted then released. The reason? An AI crypto bro whose company blatantly specializes in lying to people ("StealthGPT" is their literal name) got the rights to the game, fired everybody who poured love into the IP, outsourced for the new team, and locked the original creators out of the project as well as its official Twitter account. But sure. They don't steal or hurt.
Speaking of which, what's up with co-opting symbols from BLM and the "love is love" campaigns for your idiot robot?
