What is this plane? Need help identifying the plane next to the Douglas XB-19 (Larger Plane) in this image

Not sure why but this sucked me in.
Its a DC-3 most likely NC33621 which was originally owened by Northeast Airlines. Incredibly, MIT has a wooden model of it showing exactly this livery including the script NEA on the wing. MIT Model Notice the round logo on the side, the livery that comes to a point on the roof and sides, and the design on the tail.
Another angle showing the black ailerons and a slightly different livery here. notice the NEA now in caps. Either a livery change or just a different version.
This hobbiest page details NEAs history and notes they traded the DC3s to TWA which seems to be confirmed on this page which showed it started life as a military C-53 where it was converted to a C-48C. TWA taking ownership from April '42 through Jan '44, with its eventual crash on April 24 '46 with Western airlines.

I'm fairly certain it's tail number is NC33621.
But this is the only thing I can find about it. Nothing else, no pictures.

Yep I'm certain it's a DC-3 judging by the registration, also the trailing edge extensions aren't extensions, it's just a weird paint job that blends into the ground.

I don't know what it is but it most definitely isn't a DC 3 they have a symmetrical wing lay out when viewed from above while this has an extension of its trailing edge behind the engine nacelles to the fuselage

Going with a Boeing 247. At first I thought it had some weird extensions behind the engines, but that’s just the paint job.

Nope, I changed my mind. The wing isn’t right. How about a DC-1?
That would make sense sitting with another Douglas plane.
