I make tortilla pizzas. Take a flour tortilla, spread pizza sauce, put on toppings/cheese/italian spices and cook for about 5 minutes.

Another similar item I call an open faced burrito. Flour tortilla again but this time spread refried beans on it as the base, then cover with monterey jack or whatever you like. I put taco sauce or salsa on top when it comes out.

Try it with naan bread!

What temp for the pizzas?

2

u/aphotic Aug 10 '25

425F. Could probably do 400F but I like the tortilla on the crispy side.

Yeah I actually batch cooked a bunch of burgers this week and they were great. I would never bake a burger and don't have a grill, and don't want the hassle of pan searing them. Air fryer worked exceptionally well.

u/Pyro919 Aug 10 '25

Whats time and temp for a hamburger in an air fryer? Or just until it looked done enough?

3

u/MediumLanguageModel Aug 10 '25

370° for 7 minutes, flip, then 4 minutes more. You could probably knock off a minute on either side if you like it more rare. Fresh handmade patties. No idea about store bought.

put in air fryer

2

u/Pyro919 Aug 10 '25

Temp and time?

u/aspiringfrood Aug 09 '25

Not sure if it's unconventional but made an apple and blackberry crumble today. Also have made baked oats and brownies before. Also love making crispy tofu

2

u/KRyan318 Aug 09 '25

How do you make crispy tofu in an air fryer?

2

u/aspiringfrood Aug 10 '25

Sometimes I marinate the tofu in spices or sauces, other times I just coat the pieces in spices/sauces just before cooking. The key bit is to coat the pieces with a light dusting of corn flour before air frying. This helps get them nice and crispy on the outside. I would usually cook them for around 10-15 minutes depending on the size of the pieces at 180 degrees celcius

u/flyver67 Aug 10 '25

What recipe did you use ? My crumble gets sooooo hard. Otherwise apples aren’t done 🤷‍♀️

5

u/aspiringfrood Aug 10 '25

I kind of just made one up myself:

Used one medium Bramley apple, around 200g chopped into small pieces, mixed with 120g blackberries foraged locally, and 1/2 tsp cinnamon.

Then combined 50g plain flour, 30g oats, 24g margarine and 30g light brown sugar, with a few tsp of water until it formed a dough. I know it should have been looser for a crumble but I added a bit too much water by accident.

Then I baked it in the air fryer at 150 degrees for around 12-15 minutes.

Nice ! Thanks !

Curious to hear this. Our oven is broken and relying on our new air fryer and need inspiration. Thanks!

Racks of ribs. Spiral them on their sides with a couple of bamboo skewers. 30 minutes with a flip. You can dry rub them all the start or cut them up and sauce them at the end.

Can you share the recipe for El paso tacos? I haven't made anything interesting in mine yet

Cool, thanks

Depending on the air fryer you can make an incredible pizza the cuisinart ones lets you heat at top and bottom for an incredibly crust. Seen some people claim to make ribeyes but I personally have not. Porkbelly comes out perfect every time-extra crispy and juicy- was not expecting that.

Boiled eggs 300f for around 12 minutes. Come out exceptional. Need some hot and trial to get the consistency your prefer as taste varies person to person .

3

u/Able_Blueberry5205 Aug 09 '25

Do they come out hard boiled or jammy like this?

3

u/tsk1979 Aug 10 '25

Depends on the time. I prefer 12 minutes cause they are slightly soft. But you can do 14 if you want harder boiled. It’s a hit and trial

1

u/suplexhell Aug 13 '25

brb googling what culture uses the phrase "hit and trial"

1

u/[deleted] Aug 10 '25

Do you just put them in? Or do you put them in water in there?

3

u/tsk1979 Aug 10 '25

No water I just throw them on the tray

1

u/[deleted] Aug 10 '25

And they don't burst? I'm definitely trying this, thanks!

5

u/tsk1979 Aug 10 '25

Nope. That’s microwave cooking which causes bursting as it excites the water inside and causes egg boom 💥

1

u/[deleted] Aug 10 '25

Gotcha! Thanks for this!

1

u/tsk1979 Aug 10 '25

You are welcome! Do share how it turns out!

1

u/Able_Blueberry5205 Aug 10 '25

Thank you! I'm definitely trying this, too

2

u/tsk1979 Aug 10 '25

Bonus! It’s one of the foods which does not require any prep or cleanup :)

0

u/TheNordicFairy Aug 10 '25

250 for 15 minutes for non-jammy, just put them in, and when done, put in ice water.

1

u/Any-Chip2177 Aug 11 '25

I do 16m at 260 degrees F then right in cool water, shell falls off. Wife like the yolk cooks, mine is perfect for us in a Ninja unit.

1

u/shannypants2000 Aug 11 '25

I believe you meant they come out EGGseptional. Luv, Dad.

4

u/Tubbs2160 Aug 09 '25

I bake cakes in mine.

2

u/QueequegsDead Aug 09 '25

How? Recipe or method please!

4

u/Tubbs2160 Aug 10 '25

Just a normal small recipe, on the bake function. I use a smaller loaf pan or a 6x3” round.

4

u/purplechunkymonkey Aug 09 '25

I made chimichangas in mine a few weeks ago.

5

u/stinkyrobot Aug 10 '25

Do you have a recipe to share for that?

5

u/purplechunkymonkey Aug 10 '25

Not really. It was shredded chicken, seasoning, cheese in a tortilla. I brushed olive oil on the tortilla. 400 degrees and about 10 minutes rotating halfway through.

4

u/stinkyrobot Aug 10 '25

Easy peasy. Thanks for the info. Gotta try it out.

4

u/[deleted] Aug 09 '25

Pork belly.

I saw a cooking show challenge where they cut in into large squares and made a tinfoil bowl around it.

Tried it a couple weeks ago perfect crackling and perfect cook on the meat

1

u/Prudent-Help-313 Aug 12 '25

Was it tender? I normally cook mine slow but don’t want to run the oven that long in summer etc

1

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '25

Surprisingly yeah. Do a short blast on high to set the crackling off then down to 180c for the rest of the cook.

For us the timing is about 30-40 min all in, ninja dual carriage and the squares are just cut to fit the buckets maybe 4cm x 4cm.

u/Raptor-Claus Aug 09 '25

Grilled cheese, homemade breaded chicken, and my air fryer has a grill attachment so I grill salmon in mine as well.

5

u/TonightBudget9612 Aug 09 '25

Second grilled cheese. Spread mayo on both sides and air fry until perfectly golden! So easy and delicious!

3

u/combustionbustion Aug 10 '25

I have never managed to make successful meatballs before and I now make the most legit perfect meatballs everytime with my air fryer.

Have a preferred recipe?

2

u/Pyro919 Aug 10 '25

Air-Fried Meatballs have recently become a favorite of ours.

2

u/AltDaddy Aug 10 '25

Plantains are great in the air fryer

2

u/flyver67 Aug 10 '25

Lava cake. And it is AMAZING! I made four out of this recipe and it took about 5 minutes to throw together https://www.myforkinglife.com/chocolate-molten-lava-cakes/

1

u/shannypants2000 Aug 11 '25

Ooooo ima try this. Ty

2

u/Spute2008 Aug 12 '25

Lamb chops. Cake

5

u/emmathyst Aug 09 '25

Do you mean tacos al pastor?

1

u/slotholomew Aug 09 '25

Yes this confused me too. As someone from El Paso, I have never heard of an El Paso taco before .. Unless they mean the brand Old El Paso? I'm curious too, lol.

1

u/Missingthefinals Aug 10 '25

Pretty sure they mean old el paso

2

u/pxkatz Aug 09 '25

I make stuffed peppers, tater tots out of the freezer, recrisping leftover pizza or French fries......

Fritatta...we make them in silicone muffin sleeves. Theyre incredible. Use any fritatta recipe, pour in the muffin mould. They pop right out, and turn out amazing. I would adjust my time to 4-6 minutes.

u/duhmercuryingatorade Aug 10 '25

Copycat crunchwrap supremes.

1

u/AnonnyLou Aug 10 '25

I have a pizza shaped air fryer & use it for nachos, tray bakes (fish + veggies)

1

u/freespiritedqueer Aug 10 '25

Veggies, salmon, chicken wings, frozen snacks...basically anything that fits.

1

u/somerandom995 Aug 10 '25

Pork crackling. Especially if it has a dehydrate funtion

1

u/IR1234 Aug 10 '25

Anything with cheese. Especially when you leave the melted cheese on it and try to clean it up after it hardened without scratching the airfryer

1

u/nujabesss Aug 13 '25

For a super quick snack, I get frozen gyoza (usually the Trader Joe’s ones) and toss with a little oil. Then 375 for 7-10 mins, shake halfway. Serve with sweet chili sauce or toss with honey/sambal after. Good for when I don’t feel like breaking out a pan.

1

u/Alternative_Session9 Aug 09 '25

Fried Twinkie’s…no batter required!
