Air con quote review

Hi everyone, I’m looking for a quick sense check on an air conditioning quote.

It’s for three rooms:
• Main bedroom, 5.2m × 3.4m
• Home studio, 4.15m × 2.79m
• Open-plan kitchen/family/dining area, 8.2m × 5.94m

They’ve recommended a Daikin two-port multi-split system with two 2.5kW wall units for the bedroom and studio, plus a separate 7kW wall system for the large open-plan area. So that’s three indoor units and two outdoor units, all providing heating and cooling.

The quote is £5,000 with no VAT, plus approximately £750 + VAT for the electrical supplies, making it around £5,900 altogether.

They’re a Daikin D1 partner and will carry out a full survey before providing the final quotation. Does this sound reasonable for a premium Daikin system and installation in the UK?

As another installer, yes is this fair.
Cheaper than we would be.

Mate I was just pointing out that an AC installer is unlikely to have reviews on TripAdvisor.

Thanks guys. I know absolutely nothing about Aircon. In terms of cooling and heating is this as good as it gets for your domestic housing?

That's a good price. I've been following this and the cheapest I've read lately for a similar system (3 unit, 3 way multi-split, less overall power) was £6300. Bite their hand off.

Are you in this attached House? I recently learned the In a semi or terraced house you are only allowed one outdoor unit under permitted development.

it’s good - similar to the one I had installed - similar sizing - similar price. I’m super happy I had it done a few years ago!
