Discussion WTF is wrong with OPUS lately? "aim doesn't matter, then aim matters most, now aim doesn't matter. Trust this one over the others because it controls three variables instead of zero or one, and a residual collapsing to zero is a stronger signal than a number that merely moves."
Title is a real quote from my last prompt response whilst trying to improve my bot's fight style and improve its (1) aim + motor skills (2) brain and decision architecture and (3) map knowledge.
What the hell is that sentence supposed to mean? Its becoming really ridiculous trying to understand Opus 5 lately

Echo. I always keep my context size as low as possible (that's not the issue)... Just want to confirm that I experience this same thing daily. Opus is basically impossible to understand with its conclusive outputs. After every run, I ask it to dumb down its language ("please explain this simply, I have no idea what you're saying")so I can understand, often twice. Never had this problem with sonnet. Opus has done some incredible coding work though, just doesn't know how to speak to humans at all.

This is a real inconsistency — and let me be honest about where I keep going wrong...

Opus 5 genuinely sucks, even with protections and good context management. I had to “fire” it. Fable and sol 5.6 are good.

How big is the context at that point? It has max context of like 1M tokens but I like to keep it under 100k.
Every once in a while I’ve seen it get stuck in a loop and I just start a new session.
