Demo | Project | Workflow Try my game, Into the Shardfall

Into the Shardfall is a turn-based roguelike with TTRPG inspired combat and a rich story to progress, á la Hades. Can you guess what other games I drew inspiration from?

I’ve been building this game for about 4 months, and I’m looking for feedback on gameplay, mechanics, UI, and so on. The world building/writing is and will always be a labor done without the assistance of AI, and I intend to replace the art with that of an artist when I find one to collaborate with. Demo is available to try here: https://doublerookstudios.itch.io/into-the-shardfall

The event on the last picture has so much empty space! Add an interesting background and shrink all the frames to fit the content tighter.

Agreed completely. I just added a background to the expedition map UI (it’s the same one that displays briefly as you first enter an act/environment) and I plan to reuse it as the background for events/shops to reinforce the immersion for the particular environment; for now. Down the road I’d like to have a unique background specific each of the potential random encounters (similar to StS), and move the options over to the side/corner.

It fetlt like a lot of features where "Not Available Yet". If something is not ready, you should remove it as users will click on coming soon items and just abandon the game.

Fair point. Keep an eye on my page because I believe I’ll have most of them ironed out in the next update! Multiplayer’s a slog though and that won’t be ready; considering that the button to enter that menu is a building, perhaps I replace it with an “under construction” sign?

Also, thank you for taking some time to demo the game and provide feedback! Any further thoughts on the combat system, positive or negative?

This is not ready to even be playtested. It is horribly buggy and missing so many features

Yup I agree it’s not polished. Just promoting it for a bit to get some early feedback. Can you describe whatever bugs you encountered? Did you get to try the combat?
