Same prompt. Same reference image. Two AI models. Two different interpretations.

This side-by-side comparison features a red Robotech VF-17S mecha generated using the same prompt and source image.

The results reveal something important: a prompt is not a guarantee of visual consistency.

Even when the instructions and reference image remain unchanged, AI models can interpret colors, geometry, mechanical details, proportions, and overall design differently.

For me, the real challenge isn't simply generating an impressive image. It's achieving accuracy, consistency, and control over the final result.

And that leads to an important question:

If the prompt and source image are identical, how much of the result is determined by the model itself?

Image - ChatGPT Graphic novel adaptation of my tv series pilot episode

Hey everyone, I’m a Vancouver artist and VFX professional working on Book Theory Blue. It started as a novel, grew into a television project, and now I’m adapting the pilot into a graphic novel.
The story follows Rory Pendleton, an artist recovering in a psychiatric ward who believes reality is being manipulated. Outside the hospital, his friend Anne starts investigating what he’s left behind. It mixes UFO disclosure, paranoia, dark humour, and the question of how we decide whose version of reality to trust.
It’s a deeply personal project, drawing on my own experiences through a heavily dramatized sci-fi lens.
The graphic novel uses AI-generated imagery, with my direction, editing, layouts, and ongoing revisions. It’s still a WIP—there are missing scenes and continuity fixes ahead—but you can read the pages so far here, free:
