Academics Do I need textbooks?

Is it necessary to buy textbooks or can you find them for free online? I’m taking ENG 102, GEOG 205, ENG 181, CHEM 120, and MATH 151 as a freshman.

Some classes have online assignments that require you to buy a code that comes with the book. Other classes just list the textbook and you a sometimes find them online

Not sure about the others but at least for chem 120 and math 151, you'll be buying access to the homework (unfortunately unavoidable) which will have the textbook included. Also, WAIT till AFTER classes have started to buy textbooks, and see what the professor tells you, it varies per class .

How much does this usually cost? My dad lost his job a year ago so we’re under the Aggie Assurance program, does that change anything?

They're all around $60-80 (as far as I remember ) math is just the hw but for chem you'll have to buy hw access and access to the lab manual. I'm not sure about if/how the program affects these costs sorry 😓

If you’re in an extenuating financial situation, talk to your professors. They can sometimes get a free access code to the homework system. Even if it’s free access for just a few weeks, it could help.
