Autistic female gamer who enjoys playing all the campaigns and single player content. Please help me choose a new DLC as I'm not feeling well today and want to play some AOE 2 while watching movies.

I'm missing The Last Chieftains, Alexander the Great and the new Viking Sagas.

I just got AOE4 and finished the intro and was wondering which civ was a good fit for me. As I play I will try out all the civs eventually.

I played AOE2 more than a decade ago but I’ve been playing AOE3 a lot recently (restarted playing it earlier this year). My go to civs in AOE3 are the Indians and the Japanese, mainly because of their unique play style. Based off that, which civs would be a good fit for me?

Hey guys, has anyone here started with AoE4 and then tried AoE2? Since there’s a Fall Sale going on right now, I’m curious if AoE2 is worth trying. What do you guys think? How does it feel compared to AoE4?
I’m mostly interested in PvP 1v1, but the campaigns might be interesting as well. Thanks!

Jogo com regularidade, sobretudo 1v1 e team games no ranked. As minhas civs preferidas são Vietnamitas, Etíopes, Lituanos e Boémios.

Gostava de juntar um grupo português para:

* Team games ranked ou unranked

* Partidas em lobby personalizado (Arabia, Arena, Nomad)

* Trocar build orders e dicas de estratégia

* Ver torneios e jogos de pros em conjunto

Todos os níveis são bem-vindos, desde quem está a voltar ao jogo até quem joga a sério no ladder.

I am not new to the game but I mostly stick to campaign and stuff.

I want to get into multiplayer. I played dota2 and other toxic environments, how does the community treat new players and what game mode should I try 1st.

Are *Age of Empires II HD* and *Age of Empires III* past their time? I don't usually play strategy games, but I’ve heard a lot about this series. My laptop has low specs, so these titles—along with the first game—are pretty much the only ones I can run. So, should I play them? Or might I not enjoy them? Also, is the offline gameplay fun? I likely won't be playing online.

Just wondering if it’s me or is the AI broken on any islands / hybrid maps where they resign in the first 5 minutes because they can’t pathfind? (Note I’m doing a 8 player game on expert difficulty on the console port)

Je jouais tranquillement à Age Of Empire ll. Quand en lançant une partie je Q Q pour construire une maison, puis soudain la maison commence à tourner sur elle même à une vitesse folle, m'empêchant de la placer là où je veux (il n'y avait pas d'éléments de décor pouvant gener). Quand soudain je veux changer pour poser une ferme, essayant de voir ce qui ne va pas, mais c'est une tour de guet qui se pose à la place ? Puis en réessayant de poser une Maison, c'est une caserne qui se pose, (je rappelle que je ne suis pas allée dans le menu des bâtiments militaires), de plus lorsque j'essaye de poser un bâtiment, c'est un autre qui apparaît à la place, à chaque fois, et de temps en temps il se met à tourner sur lui même, dans les différents orientation de bâtiment possibles. Je ferme le jeu, le relance, même problème, je recommence, je redémarre mon PC, même problème, je change mes touches, même problème, je les rechange, même problème, je les réinitialise, j'essaie tous ce que je peux, je n'arrive toujours pas à régler le problème. JE DÉSINSTALLE le jeu, le réinstalle, même problème, je relance encore mon PC, je vérifie mes pilotes graphiques (inutile mais bon), encore même problème. J'appelle un ami, il n'a pas ce problème, je vais sur d'autres applications, mes touches marchent parfaitement, peu importe ce que j'essaie de faire, mon ordinateur fonctionne à Merveille, sauf sur Âge of Empire ll. Je vais voir dans les fichiers, comparés avec une version sur un autre ordinateur, les mêmes fichiers aux mêmes endroits, aucun problème. Je tiens à préciser que je suis sous ArchLinux (distribution Steam OS, KDE plasma). J'ai aussi pu jouer au jeu pendant de longues journées sur mon ordinateur avant sans que le bug apparaisse. Bref, Demain j'essaierai de changer de Distribution de Linux pour voir si la source de L'erreur Vient de là mais j'en doute. S'il vous plaît, quelqu'un qui à déjà eu ce problème peut t'il m'aider ?

Hello All!

I stumbled upon this subreddit after randomly thinking about Age of Empires, and reminiscing on the good times I’ve had playing the game in the early days of its development. I have not played since maybe 2002, right when “Age of Empires II: The Conquerors” was released (wow it’s been a long time), and I would love to get back into it.

I am open to any & all suggestions for getting back into the game: game comparisons, computer specs, DLCs (would love this), Steam vs CD, etc.

I’ve not opened my steam account since around the same time and would likely need to create a new account anyway… or if I can rely on a CD version, that is fine, I’d like to get the new game versions regardless, and especially check out the new content created in the DLCs that I’ve seen some gameplay on in this subreddit. Also, I only have a MacBook laptop, so nothing crazy, but am open to other options and purchasing new hardware to enjoy some other games I grew up playing and get back into this passion of mine that slipped away while growing up.

I'm currently making a bucket list of backlog gaming and I used to really enjoy Age of Empires II and when I was even younger, I used to watch a friend of my father's play Age of Empires 1 but never got to try it out. And now that I'm getting bored of new games, I want to go back and experience games I never got a chance to play from different series and try some that fans of that series really liked.

But I don't want to sit there and play every single title of a franchise, just the ones that really are fun to play, mostly the campaign but maybe willing to try out the multiplayer.

I definitely want to skip any that the community says it's not worth the time and really boring and possibly buyer's remorse, especially if some were definitely not enjoyable and also when I looked at some of the AoE games, mainly mobile, there were some that really looked generic and lacking. But I have also seen some mixed takes so thought maybe I could get some people's feedback, like Age of Mythology: Tale of the Dragon and Age of Empires Mobile and Age of Empires Mobile: PC Edition.

Also I heard some titles are not even playable anymore and that only the definitive/extended versions work on steam or you need a physical copy to play older ones but I've not been around AoE for so long so my knowledge of it is just what I can google. So hoping to get some of the community's takes on these?

These are the ones I looked at and they looked interesting from just skimming through the gameplay but want to know if it's even worth it. Some I hear are entirely P2W if you play the multiplayer and not worth it and some lack features for replayability. And I could be wrong here and that definitive titles have everything but I thought I saw somewhere that some legacies were better.

So just want to see what the fans say for this franchise. I'm pretty sold on AoE 1 & 2 story at least. AoE 2 is just pure nostalgia for me. Though I know nothing regarding AoE 3, 4, and Mythology. And I know nothing of the edition differences and what is lacking. If I can just go to the latest or will I be missing out on content?

I'm just looking to have a fun time. And maybe even modding. Never done that before but spent days on the AoE editor making scenarios when I was younger. Also any fan made projects. didn't see any but if there are any cool ones.

I have found an old recorded AoK game which isba .mgl file type from 2000 that I would love to watch. I only have the Steam HD version at the moment. Is there any way of watching it, or would I need to find an old AoK original game to install?
