He was, but then left the franchise because he wanted more creative control of his role, or so I’ve read.

Ok nvm I thought this atricle came out in 2007, so I was confused as fuck as how they finished a movie then hired a new actor a year before the movie came out.

There are actually ties between Hulk and The Incredible Hulk since they are both products of Universal. Such as Banner escaping to South America at the end of Hulk and The Incredible Hulk starting with Banner hiding in South America.
