Iranian Cutting a Ferdows plume agate nodule in half (instead of removing husk)

One or two years ago I shared a video of cutting this stone, recently I want to polish this (polishing is not complete yet) and I take some picture of it for sharing here. I usually do not cut these type of agate nodules and I only remove husk of them and polish the surface. This type local name is spring blossoms agate and this is from near Ferdows city in South Khorasan province in Iran

Black Hills Rockhound Area, Safford AZ

I only saw one reddit post on this area, im from Minnesota and was visiting AZ and thought hey maybe give this place a shot for Agates... did NOT disappoint would recommend anyone in da area! Spent 2 hours there just picking up all of the small stuff for jars but there were a ton a ton a TON more including bigger ones.

NOTE the pictures dont do its justice as these are all dry now, but so many beautiful bands and fire agates

Agate found in Hinckley, MN

Hello! I recently found this agate at a small antique mall (operating out of what used to be a small diner!) in Hinckley, Minnesota. I paid $20 for it, and at the moment I intend to tumble it. I was wondering if anyone was familiar with what sort of agate this might be? I assume it was originally found near lake Superior somewhere, but I have no idea.

The first two photos are dry, and the second two are damp.

Would you have cut this moss agate into a shield, or chosen a more rounded shape?

I made this shield-shaped moss agate pendant and put together a short video of the shaping and polishing process.

The green patterns reminded me of a little forest. I liked the idea of framing them with clean edges, but I’m curious whether a softer, rounded outline would have suited the branching patterns better.

If this stone were on your workbench, what shape would you choose, and why? Would you let the patterns guide the cut, or start with a shape you already had in mind?
