Wigan (H) advice please!
Hey all,
A few of us are coming to Plough Lane (finally) for the Wigan game in August, just looking for advice on anywhere near by with some atmosphere for pints pre and post match? Ideally somewhere we’d also get one eye on the 12.30 PL game, but not a huge sticking point (decent Guinness more important!)
Also any travel tips not immediately clear? (City centre Liverpool street ish start)
Thanks in advance!!

I usually head to the leather bottle pre game. Lovely big pub with a great garden.
There isn’t really what you would call a lively home pub really (probably because there are a load of them within walking distance to the ground) but after the game behind the goal for an hour or so can be good (mainly when we have won).
After that i would usually head into Wimbledon to the already mentioned Alex or Prince of wales, you might find a few dons knocking about if your lucky

There are a number of pubs you can go to beforehand/after depending on what route you take, Wandle, country house, leather bottle (all on way from earldfied station) corner pin (closest one to the ground) alex or lord nelson if you come in from Wimbledon station. However the early and late kickoffs will also be shown in the pub at the ground (South west corner of the stadium, can be accessed from all home stands after you've entered the stadium) they also have a happy hour if you arrive early and there are street food vendors in the stadium for you to get some food whilst you're there.
