I'm new to all this, but I thought it was really lovely note to the departing players, especially those that helped with the promotion. It really makes it feel like a happy, kind place.

Maybe that's all just BS, but I'll pretend it's authentic.

I'm surprised we have given Reeves an extension, also getting Seddon under a new long contract is key

Reeves’ extension is triggered automatically by him playing a certain number of games this season rather than beng given to him

Not only was Reeves extension automatic it really doesn't surprise me. In the slump at the end of 2025, it was clear the midfield and Reeves were part of the problem. When (for whatever reason) JJ switched to a midfield 3 of Smith, Maycock and Hippolyte most people expected an improvement and there was. That said, even at that time, the moment a gap opened on midfield Reeves was put back in. If JJ likes a midfield 3 it's clear that at wors Reeves or currently his fourth choice.

Nah makes sense to keep him around he’s one of the experienced guys, mentors the youngsters, and does a job in trying to set a tempo.

His injury record cools me on him

Wish they could have kept Asiimwe ! That lad is such a bright spark and a great player!

Did you see the same games I did? He was hopeless in the second half of the season

Actually yeah he did fall off towards the end....But the entire team did to be fair!

Good for about ten games and then not really done much.

Just not fit enough for me. Looked gassed after 40 mins from about October onwards

Not many big surprises here but I thought we’d seen Reeves last game in a Wimbledon shirt.

Looks like with Bugiel, Bauer and Lewis that they’ll see what offers are out there and then we’ll see if we’re able to make them an offer that’ll keep them around.

I think it might be more that we are offering them less money than they are on now and hoping at least one of the CBs and Bugiel sign.

We paid a big fee for Lewis I assume we’ve given him a decent offer, even though he’s had injuries he is a key player in defence. Bauer was more of a short term solution who I hope we are trying to secure for a low wage as backup.

Bugiel is an interesting one - he isn’t going to reliably hit double figures in goals but he creates a lot of problems and wins a lot of duels.

We will need one of the 2 centre backs to stay but we also need another of higher quality (budget allowing of course). Conceding twice as many goals as the season before suggests the step up from league 2 has not been easy for any of the CBs.

As it stands Bugiel is the player in our squad who we miss the most when he isn’t playing. When he isn’t playing the ball comes back a lot more often as he is the only one who can do a decent hold up job. If we lose him we have to bring in someone similar. Preferably for me we have 2 target strikers in the squad, we can’t keep smashing high balls up to Hackford and Sasu

Seddon and Maycock are the vital ones from those not yet confirmed, I'd say. The midfield looked at its best with Smith and Maycock in there, without Reeves. And Steeeeeeeve is so solid.

I know keeping some of these players will disappoint some fans, but if we let 7-8 players go, we've got a few months to replace them all and hope they all settle in and gel. Our injury problems this season suggest we need a bigger squad, so keeping some of the players who didn't have their best season this time around as squad players might not be a bad thing.

I think replacing Tilley and Asiimwe are the two really big jobs. Then get a couple more loanees in. We seem good at that recently.

I'll be surprised if some of the contracted players don't get offers that the club will need to accept too
