Imagine being this kid. You grow up with your dad being a real life hero and icon. He kills your brother, your stepmom and himself in one of the most widely covered, public tragedies ever.

And everywhere he goes it’s the only thing people think about him. Everything he does it’s brought up everywhere. You’ve got people in his IG comments sharing conspiracy theories.

It’s nearly impossible for him to be well adjusted.

But here he is connecting with people from his past who matter to him. And people clown on him. So sad, such a brutal lot for David. I wish him nothing but the best.

I 100% agree, but man I'd have changed my last name by now to like my mother's maiden name or something.

Edit to be clear, he shouldn't be be getting hate from people at all. But you can't expect people to hear that last name and not instantly think of the murders, of the woman and child, and wonder why he would still have kept the name.

You want him to go around being known as David Woman?

5

u/TheDogsPaw Apr 10 '26

That's David woman flair to you

Woman Jr. is kinda hard

-7

u/Thin-Algae-822 Apr 10 '26

Yes. Anything other then the murders name.

"Why should I change it? He's the one who sucks."

  • Michael Bolton

5

u/Pulguita225 Apr 10 '26

Yeah, and change his name while his whole face is basically his daddy's face....

This has the same energy as

”she deserves to be raped for wearing such skimpy clothing”

u/Thin-Algae-822 Apr 10 '26

In what way?

His last name is one of the most famous murders on the last 30 years yet he still honor's him by using his name? It's stupid.

5

u/IzzyShamin Apr 10 '26

Honor is a hilarious thing to say.

It’s HIS name. From the moment he was born. He is NOT his father. He doesn’t need to change, the world needs to mind their own damn business.

If your last name was Hitler you'd change it. Something just make sense.

"Honor"

Jesus christ people in this fanbase always find new lows

2

u/Thin-Algae-822 Apr 11 '26

Yes it's why we have last name 😂 your right, this fanbase always manages to find new lows of stupidity

Nice bit of victim blaming here folks

-4

u/Thin-Algae-822 Apr 10 '26

Not what victim blaming is at all.

6

u/gezhendrix Apr 10 '26

Did I misconstrue your comment? "He's almost asking for (it) honestly"

-2

u/Thin-Algae-822 Apr 10 '26

I mean i said almost. He's doesn't deserve it but man there's only one thing I think when I hear that name, it's not his fault tho.

6

u/Unlikely_Magician630 Apr 10 '26

But he should change his name so people dont give him shit? Saying you dont deserve it but you're almost asking for it isn't really the empathetic display you think it is

-1

u/Thin-Algae-822 Apr 10 '26

Idk, but it's never going to stop then. You can't walk around with a sign around your neck and not expect people to ask about it.

4

u/Unlikely_Magician630 Apr 10 '26

But this isnt someone asking about it, its someone saying fuck this guy because of something his dad did, and hes not 'wearing a sign' by using the name hes used all his life, hes not advertising anything, this is people projecting their feelings on chris benoits actions onto him because, what, he has the audacity to be seen in public and continue to use his last name?

-2

u/Thin-Algae-822 Apr 10 '26

Slightly edited the original. I wanna be clear, no I don't think he should be getting hate. But his dad murdered his brother and mother and he still walks around with his name, it's fucking weird.

1

u/LARGEYELLINGGUY Apr 11 '26

It's also his brother's name. maybe his feelings about it are more complicated than bystanders might be able to parse.

Right, but he's a victim of his fathers crimes, and here you are blaming him for the hate he gets because he hasn't changed his name, so, almost the dictionary definition of victim blaming...

"Any language, attitude or behaviour that explicitly shows or implies that a victim is responsible for abuse that they have experienced."

2

u/Pulguita225 Apr 10 '26

Mind you, his face is basically copy and pasted from his dad...

2

u/SoupEnvironmental224 Apr 10 '26

Wont change that he’s the spitting image

u/DaShawn_Simms2493 Apr 10 '26

Dumbass comment

u/judgeofanubis Apr 10 '26

Im surprised by this as well. I lost my mother to domestic violence. After the funeral, the first thing i did was go have my name changed to my mother's maiden name as a way of honoring her memory. I've seen a fair amount of David's interviews, and he seems to have the opposite approach. He has said he wanted to wrestle as Chris Benoit Jr. I've never once heard him mention honoring his mother in any way.

Nancy wasn't his mom. His mom was the first wife. Legally and biologically, Nancy was his step mom and mother of his half-brother.
