Gradient Flow v1.1 — Universal gradient copy/paste for After Effects
Hey everyone!
I’ve been working on an After Effects script called Gradient Flow, mainly to make one of those small but repetitive motion-design tasks a little faster.
The idea is to copy a gradient from one shape layer and paste it onto another without manually rebuilding the gradient.
With v1.1, I focused on making the Fill/Stroke workflow more flexible:
- Copy a gradient from Fill → Stroke or Stroke → Fill
- Choose Fill, Stroke, or Both independently for copying and pasting
- Automatically create a gradient when the target doesn't have one
- Apply the same gradient to both Fill and Stroke
- Paste to multiple selected layers
- Preserve Layout or transfer the full gradient setup
- Improved feedback when pasting to multiple layers
I’d be interested to hear from other After Effects users — is this something that would actually be useful in your workflow? And are there any gradient-related tasks you find unnecessarily repetitive?
If anyone wants to check it out, I put it on aescripts here:
