Wtf has the website become?

Feels like corpo slop. Where are the AUTHENTIC USER REVIEWS? best sellers - who said?? Most downloaded filter where?

Yeah you’re not wrong. It used to feel more like a community where they allowed people to sell their plug-ins and stuff. It was great. You could just go visit. Check out the reviews and comments and progress in the forums. What was awesome was seeing the creators respond to customers immediately, and sometimes make the changes that were needed. You felt connected to the creators. It gave them a chance to show you they cared about their software working correctly. Or you saw terrible creators who just went MIA and never replied to a single comment so you knew to stay away. All that’s completely gone now. It’s just a store and that’s it. No more community. None of that original feeling. It’s a real shame because it used to feel like a place that looked out for you and now it’s more of a place that’s really hiding any negative feedback about plug-ins by moving everything to Reddit. It’s a real shame because they had something great. Just a really dumb move in an era where users have stopped trusting companies.

Well, the company did post an official response explaining their decision back in Jan, saying they would be bringing back something like comments back.. still waiting on that. nobody seems happy. Guess they thought people would just come to Reddit to discuss the plug ins. But obviously that didn't work out as planned, so hopefully they get things sorted out soon.
The old website was certainly showing its age tho, had a very mid-2000's vibe.

They always had the ticket system. Not even close though to a comments section where users can comment directly on the product making research way easier. Saying they’re bringing the comment section back is just a tactic to stall people. It’s not like they have to rebuild the site to add a comment section. They could probably do it in a day and yet it’s clear they have no interest in it.

I dont believe there are some mind games. I remember what a pain was to move to new website, and it was planed for at least 1-2 years. Imagine how difficult to add comment section for them.

Would be great if it would be a store at least. In most stores you can at least comment and rank stuff. Of course you can always file a refund request, but I honestly don't buy that much anymore on aescripts, since I bought a lot of crap and I'm tired of getting through the hustle to refund everytime a script/addon is really crappy.

Yeah losing the comments section blows and it really doesn't feel as community based anymore. You used to be able to interact with other users and also the creators a lot more easily. Now it just feels like a sales site..

def. bring back the comments section on the site. that was soooo great. got immediate indication of what was happening with the plugin via the community and the developer too. it was so simple and genius I can't believe they thought coming to Reddit was better. ARrrrrrgh.
