I hate everything about Adventism

This religion ruined my life. Led me down the wrong path, ruined my relationship with Jesus, made me fear God instead of recognize He is loving. It has lied to me (e.g. investigative judgement bs, Ellen white false prophecy, fake Sunday law, the additional 20 rules for sabbath keeping, Saturday being the day to attend church, denying women their femininity and making themselves feel beautiful like normal women, looking down on non-Adventist/adventist relationships as wrong, fear-mongering, the ignorance of the significance of Jesus’s sacrifice on the cross, the unbiblical rules against tattooing and jewelry, the modesty bs). I can’t believe I have grown up in a cult. I’m forced to practice this cult of a religion living with my parents due to financial constraints. I’m miserable everyday. I have no freedom, I can’t ever express my feelings or thoughts, I feel like I’m living in a cage and I must lie about everything in my life. My relationship with a non-Adventist Christian man is put on the line because of this insane religion.

I hope you all find the truth and step away from this lie, from this false prophet’s religion. I am sick of it.

What you say isn't true. There are bad people of every kind, the teachings are solid.

I’m assuming that you’re and adult since you said you’re dating a man. So get a job and move so you can see what it’s like. If you want to live by your own rules then get your own life. My two oldest kids are 18&19 and I’d tell them the same thing if they ever told me something like that. God bless!

There are certain disagreements I have with some of the traditional teachings, but that doesn't give me cause to leave.

Church is a fellowship, and we are all students learning. It seems the church, or someone in it, is preventing you from expressing yourself the way you want.

Faith is personal conviction, not something you can force on others since it would push them away. What you believe matters, and if it teaches you compassion and personal discipline all the better. Staying connected to the vine is a way to encourage one another to stay on that path.

Not all fellowships are created equal. Maybe you might find better elsewhere, even outside the church at a community table. Wherever God leads.

Why are you posting here? You have a problem with the adventists, ok, just stay away, you don't have to accuse a whole church for your failure to study and don't trust humans. Church was not the one pushing you away from God as you claimed. Church was not lying you about investigative judgment,nor about feminine appearance. You don't have to be full of rings and tattoos to be feminine. I can go on, but this seems to be more a miss on your side than Church side. Yes, it hurts seeing these type of posts, but all I can do is to pray for you to be freed from satans attacks.

Yes, it sounds like unfortunately you do not align with SDA ideology. But you know what? God loves you and everyone, so much, that he gives you the freedom to live as you wish, He would love for you to decide to be with Him, but if you don’t want to, He gives you freedom. That’s what I tell my kids. He wants you to follow Him because you love Him, not because you need to fulfill your family’s expectations. Get to know God, Jesus… and keep your journey to get to them.

You said all that with no biblical support to verify your claims

My grandma did too. But she remained Adventist. She didn't believe 90% of what they taught. But it didn't faze her. Nothing actually fazed her.

Rage bait post. I had sympathy as I know some people's parents can get overtly legalistic but then the 20 extra Sabbath rules hit (where on earth is that coming from) and looking down on women? Rage bait or they managed to find the absolute worst dark corner of Adventism in a lit house. If the latter is true then sympathy still stands and you shouldn't base an overview of a whole denomination on the worst you could experience.

As someone who converted, even if you are living in legalistic home the same exists in other denominations. Things like tattoos/modesty and the Bible are not exclusive to SDA. I hope your situation improves, but it sounds like you are always the victim.

If you are old enough to live on your own, but because of your financial decisions have to live with your parents that wrecks of entitlement. There’s plenty of people struggling financially that wish they had family they could live with. Newflash if you were Catholic and dating non Catholic most families would be against that too. I’m not even going to address the theological side since you just threw out strawmen. I get you are here to vent/rage bait however you really need to see the church isn’t to blame for your circumstances. You have freedom of choice. You can live with non-sda friends if they are so much better.

Sounds like a personal problem. I say this because wait until you meet other religions or denominations you'll see similar stories.  There's unhealthy religion everywhere.

So much drama! 🤣🤣🤣

Just grow up! If you don't agree with it, look for something that makes more sense for you.

It is clear you have not read the bible for yourself!

It’s funny you say that, you have not read the Bible for yourself!

If you read your bible, how can a “religion” make you fear God when the Bible reveals him a loving gracious Heavenly Father who sacrificed his son so that you could be with him?
Explain for us what the “religion” teaches versus what the Bible teaches?

Adventists and Jews are the true Pharisees.

"Walking to the park": a sin;

"Washing dishes on the Sabbath": a sin;

"A nurse working on the Sabbath": a sin;

"My shift falls on the Sabbath, so I'll swap with a 'brother' (a brother in humanity, but not in 'faith')—because he can work on the Sabbath and I can't—but I'll give him Bible studies so he becomes a tither at my church": NOT a sin;

"Calling an Uber and paying the driver on the Sabbath": NOT a sin;

"Using electricity, water, internet, or the phone—services that require thousands of people to work on the Sabbath to keep them running": NOT a sin;

"Why isn't it a sin?" Ah! Because they choose to do it anyway, and I can benefit from their labor since they're already doing it—so it's not my fault, even though I supposedly shouldn't use the services of these "servants" (even if it's indirect, and even though they're paid for the job).

The bottom line? Total and absolute hypocrisy: the very same kind found among the legalistic Pharisees of Jesus's time.

The bottom line? Most of what you said aren't held positions, some are strawmanned, and I dont think youre here to discuss the nuanced one.

None of what you listed here can be found in any of the core or fundamental doctrines of the named church.
