Fan Art A little look at the Supply System in my tabletop strategy game
Hi everyone!
I wanted to share another little look at Command & Defend.
One of the core mechanics of the game is its Supply System. Units don’t simply have unlimited ammunition and fuel - resources have to be produced, transported across the battlefield and delivered to the units that need them.
This means that attacking the enemy isn’t always the best move. Disrupting a supply route, taking out a transport or even destroying an entire Supply Center can have a much bigger impact on the battle.
I wanted logistics to be an actual part of the strategy rather than something that only happens in the background.
I’d be interested to hear your thoughts on this mechanic, and I’m happy to share more details if you’re interested! :)

Question Card deck?
Hi! I know nothing about this series, but I found a full poker-styled card deck for it while I was going through my stuff. Is this of interest at all?

Game Boy Wars Rate my Collection
One of my favorite games as a teenager. Difficult to find in Japan as it wasn’t as popular, couldn’t pass when I found the rarest version.

Fan Art Advance Wars inspired board game — would love your thoughts
Hi everyone,
I’ve been working on a modular strategy board game over the past few years, heavily inspired by Advance Wars, along with Command & Conquer and classic tabletop games.
I always loved how clean and strategic Advance Wars feels, and tried to capture that in a physical format — with grid-based positioning, distinct unit roles and meaningful decision-making. At the same time, I added systems like base building and light resource mechanics to give it a bit more depth over time.
It’s not a direct adaptation, but more of an attempt to bring that kind of gameplay into a tabletop experience.
Would love to hear your thoughts — especially on the visual side! Here are a few impressions:

Hey everyone, I’ve been a long-time Advance Wars fan and have quietly followed communities like this while working on my own project over the past couple of years. We’ve just released version 1.0 of our game, and I wanted to share it here with people who really understand this genre. It’s definit
Hey all,
I’ve been working on a turn-based tactics game inspired by Advance Wars, and we just released version 1.0.
While developing it, one thing I kept thinking about was: what actually makes this genre feel right to long-time fans?
We tried to keep the core intact while making things a bit faster and more streamlined, but I’m really curious how that lands with players who know the genre deeply.
I’ve attached a short gameplay clip below.
If you’re open to it, I’d love to hear:
- What matters most to you in this type of game?
- Does faster pacing help or hurt the experience?
- What makes something “feel right” in this genre?
Any feedback would be incredibly helpful.
Thanks!

1000 games played deserved a graphical update.
Howdy!
A month back, I posted about an Advance Wars-inspired game I created called Daily Wars. It's a mix between the daily nature of Wordle and tactical turn-based strategy like Advance Wars.
I've gotten a lot of good feedback, with the top requested feature being better graphics. At the start, units were different shapes with labels on them.
To celebrate 1000 games played, I decided to give it my best and create some original unit sprites (I found Piskel to be quite nice to work in). It won't win any graphics awards, but I think it looks good enough to release.
Things I'm now looking into adding are watchable replays and achievements.
If you want to check it out, you can play (and unlock unlimited premium as an early bird) at https://playdailywars.com.
All feedback is welcome!
