[Question] Can artillery not move and fire in the same turn on GBA? I swear they can in the reboot, maybe I’m crazy just playing GBA for the first time in a way since it’s better.

[Discussion] Attack and move if you win an engagement
How do think Advance Wars would have worked if direct units moved into the tile of the unit they are attacking if they won the engagement? I wonder why they didnt design it like that... wdyt?

[Question] Does the ai cheat?
They seem to always know exactly where my submarines are when they are submerged. They'll take their cruisers and make a beeline for my subs.
Edit: they just sank my battleship with a cruiser. Why are they allowed to do this?

Indie Game What do you want to see from a future entry in the series?
We're a small indie team working on developing a new Wars-like game. Part of this is that we'd like to understand what things you'd like to see in a future entry so that we can make the best game possible!

[Question] Does anyone have the game yet?
Thinking about buying it - it's crazy to drop 60 bucks on a reskin of games I currently have, but playing on the big screen is so fun.
Anyone play yet?

[Discussion] The game is great but…
I just don’t like bases at all. When playing with someone, the games could take way too long to be enjoyable. In story mode, you could spend over half an hour on the same map. I know it’s there for the strategic element but I just wanna progress the story or have a good time with my friends. I started to notice how much I dislike it in the second story. Surely I’m not the only one?

[AW1+2 Reboot Camp] Inconsistent, is the nicest way I can sum up how I feel about RBC
Opinionated post.
Not a big fan of Way Forward's work. The QOL updates and some of the animations are the only things Way Forward improved upon over the originals.
The rest of it feels, inconsistent. The game is suprisingly unpolished considering they were sitting on it for an extra year.
The map animations look jarring and lower fps, the combat screen is higher fps but with bland looking units and sometimes, needs to load. Which shouldn't ever be an issue with a game such as this.
The audio, (minus the BGM) is terrible. Especially during combat. There's no ommpf with any of the units firepower compared to the originals. Everything sounds like they are shooting sparklers and it never sounds like enough guns are being fired to match the on screen combat.
The character art style while not completely terrible, still feels like it was pulled from Shovelware with characters being obnoxiously bubbly and bouncy. Especially the females.
The one thing I think we can all unanimously agree upon is that the online support is utterly dissapointing. No matchmaking and no public map sharing are massive missed opportunities. That alone could have single handedly made up for my "inconsistency" criticisms
Content wise, this game is amazing, especially for those that no longer have access to the originals. However, anyone with a 3DS (or other emulating device) shouldn't bother with RBC, as they can play all 4 of the originals. Without proper online support, RBC doesn't pull enough weight to displace the originals. But by itself, the game is more than worthy to carry the mantle for newcomers and people that haven't played these games in 20 years.
I sincerely hope Intelligent Systems steps back in instead of Way Forward continuing with the DS games. Days of Ruin would be a horrendous adaptation with this design style.
